I have stayed in several hotels in Zimbabwe over the last three years. I am therefore not comparing this place to European or North American hotels, but to other hotels in Zimbabwe. First of all, the place sells itself as a four stars hotel, compared to other hotels, it is not more than 2. I heard it used to be a nice hotel, this is simply no longer the case. Food choice is poor (same food for lunch and dinner 7 days a week). No Internet ( except for a very poor connection around reception area), frequent electricity cuts ( generators are often off, which means no telephone), problems with hot water and very poor service. But the worse is that there are very few staff, almost everything is done by trainees, who work for free, with almost no supervision, and who are required to do everything from cleaning rooms to serving food from 6 am till very late at night. I will do my possible to avoid this place in the future.
Best rooms are in the 3rd wing ( the have fireplace).
