Regardless of having booked when this property was previously known as Lakeside Motor Inn and having read the previous negative reviews around noise and out of date room/bathrooms etc I was looking forward to having interstate family stay in order to experience the Fukusui Teppenyaki BBQ for a 40th Birthday. After visiting the property in September I was confident that with the advised room make overs, sound proofing and bathroom updates (and as per their website), the previously known Executive Suites, now known as Waterview Queen, with private balcony would be modern and comfortable. How incorrect this description was and is.
In these waterview rooms the only updated items were the bed, linen, TV and docking station, all other furniture, features and the bathroom were from the 70's. The 'private' balcony is accessed through a clunky old and heavy sliding door and you step onto turned up, fake green turf with wooden latice being the divider between the next balcony, not so private. The aircon functioned but was extremely noisy and you would not be able to sleep with it on. The 'oversized' bar fridge was not remotely cold, of normal capacity with a broken ice tray and frosted up 'freezer' section.
As mentioned above, the property has had some issues with noise both from the guests and diners from the restaurant. How disappointed I was when after dining at that 8:30 session, returning to my room with family & friends for cake and to be sung Happy Birthday to when 20secs after, Management knocks and advises that the noise curfew is 9:30pm, he 'stretched' it to 10pm and that should the noise continue, he will kick the party out! All this as he was responding to a 'noise complaint from another guest'. They were singing Happy Birthday!
We kept it down, people gradually left and we wrapped it up by 11pm, well within the local council noise restrictions being of a Friday & Saturday night, at 1am.
Management will continue to have noise complaints from 'guests' when such an unreasonable curfew of 9:30pm is set and the restaurnt closes at 10pm.
I would not recommend this property due to the lack of respect and customer connection Management have with guests. We were treated like an inconvenience rather than being welcomed into a family '5' star accommodation. This property DID NOT exceed any of our expectations!
Fukusui Teppenyaki BBQ GREAT! Amazing, fun, tasty!
Eat at the Fukusui Teppenyaki BBQ but stay elsewhere.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. It is a first time experience for me to have a guest complain they were not permitted to make excessive noise and have a party of up to 18 people in a motel room designed to sleep 3 people. You are obviously upset that you weren't able to use our motel room as a subsitute party venue and are welcome to vent online as I had expected you and others in your group would do. I make no apologies for not permitting excessive noise and for not permitting parties in rooms, that is Eco Inn policy and will remain Eco Inn policy - we ensure a good night of rest, not a good night of partying on. If you are looking at having a party in a motel room, Eco Inn is not the place for you to do it as was made clear to you when you made your site visit. Thanks again for your feedback and taking the time to make me aware of your issue(s). Regards Andrew
