Firstly, I take into consideration that this is a cheap pub restaurant. Secondly, I have been there many many times with my family & Grandkids. I have probably spent many £100's there. Last night we got there early (say 6'ish) Only two staff on bar in an already busy pub/restaurant. Lady next to me complained about the state of her wine glass. It was heavily smeared & water stained. She was told by the girl behind the bar that they were all like that. The lady retreated to her seat with another replica glass. I ordered one red & one white wine & returned to the table to peruse the menu. My wife took a sip of her white wine & said it was warm. Back to the bar I go & wait behind a couple of others being served. Women behind bar says that the fridge isn't up to much & she could put some ice in the wine! Now when it comes to wine I'm not a snob about it but.........PUT ICE INTO TEPID WINE!!!! boy that's going to taste good!!!!!!
I took both drinks back to the bar & told the guy that our glasses were filthy & the white wine was warm.......& then we walked.
It's a shame that we won't be going back there because the food is good value but the service at front of house was shoddy & unprofessional....God knows what goes on back of house.
