Well, we're just packing up from our one night stay here. We came to St. Brides to see the St. Marys Gannet colony, which is truly outstanding but I feel I should write this review since I rely so much on tripadvisor and want others to benefit.
We didn't know what to expect coming this far into the '..outback' of NFLD......the land was a surprise....felt like we arrived in Patagonia. Just starkly beautiful with an ocean backset.
The Capeway Hotel was a real surprise...it is an old Convent house. It is completely revamped on the insides. It is the cleanest hotel that we've stayed at in NFLD so far. We are so happy after this experience. The beds were great, bathroom is new and clean, newly painted by obvious professionals, the staff was gracious and friendly and they even refused to accept any money I offered them after they loaned us laundry soap and dryer sheets to use in their clean laundry facility.
The place even smelled clean, none of those unusual hotel smells that we've all experienced over our travels. The place was quiet too, no teenage hockey teams taking the place over
Nice simple breakfast area, no seating so you eat in your room.
We stayed upstairs facing the front and you can just see the ocean from the window.
Recommend this place wholeheartedly and you won't be disappointed.
