“This hotel met our needs for a stopover”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

We stayed one night on our journey to the French Alps.

We were welcomed by the friendly and helpful staff.
Contrary to the information on booking.com they actually have a private Parking (to be paid for).
Note that (in theory) you cannot access your car between 2200 and 700 hrs.

The rooms are small but nicely decorated. No fridge although.

We did not use the pool/spa, we just gave it a peek and it looked nice.

Chambery is a small town worthwhile to go for a walk in the historic centre. For dinner you do not have any other option anyway, since there is no restaurant in this hotel. But there's a lot of choice in town.

They serve an average breakfast in the morning. No fresh juice, just acceptable coffee and you need an engineer degree to boil your eggs. So that's ok, for once.

Summarizing this hotel met our needs for a stopover but certainly not for a longer stay.

Very pleased when we first arrived at this hotel, staff very friendly and spoke good English.
Our room was very nice but not large and we had no wardrobe, as it was at the end of our holiday and only spending 2 nights we didn't unpack, but had it been the other way around and we wanted to unpack it would have been a problem. Loved the shower(s). We didn't hear any traffic and the air conditioning was helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Would return but with a wardrobe.

Room Tip: If you want to unpack and hang up your clothes ask for a room with a wardrobe.

The hotel gave me a room on the 5th floor overlooking the town, how ever because of the road noise I moved to a smaller but quieter room. The bed was very good, the shower good and warm.
The staff were very cheerfully and helpfully,
There is no restaurant on site so a walk outside for dinner is required, which when it is deep in snow I didn't get far.
The breakfast is extra at €15 euro each.... Not worth that. The secure car parking is extra at €12 a night which means the hotel staff have to walk up the road to open the gates and is a small 4 or 5 car underground place, but at least the car wasn't covered in snow.

Room Tip: The pictures for the hotel make it look at lot bigger than it actually is, so ignore them.

This hotel was perfect for a one night stay on Chambery. Super modern, clean and well located, the staff was very accommodating and the breakfast was really good. Wished we hadn't reserved the 8:25am train back to Paris, would have liked to spend more time at this hotel!
