“Not for Disabled Guests - No accessible rooms.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Hotel is not for the disabled guest - no accessible rooms and no disabled access within the hotel, my father is wheelchair bound and he could not access the ensuite bathroom. The staff took the bathroom door off its hinges and his wheelchair still would not pass. Had to take my father to bathroom on ground floor - not ideal when his bedroom was on 2nd floor. Steps within the building meant staff had to open fire exit doors and he had to venture outside through the internal courtyards to get his breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Hotel Management discriminate against disabled guests - major refurbishment and re organisation of the internal layout of this hotel is required to make it accessible.

Room Tip: Don't book this hotel if you are disabled.

Stayed at this hotel for airport parking as we were flying from Birmingham airport 6.00am . Travelled up from South Wales and hoped to grab a few hours sleep before heading off to airport at 3.30am - no chance!!! On arrival no record of booking - we had taken a print out of confirmation and assured it was no problem. Went to room - someone had only just left by the look of it - room was not made up there were towels on the floor and the bed was unmade. Went back to reception and was allocated another room - this was really nice so we were quite pleased. The receptionist that dealt with us was quite pleasant but there was another on duty who was totally uninterested in anything.
Unfortunately there was a wedding at the hotel and most of the guests were staying on the same floor - next room and opposite included. From 8.30pm until 2.30am the wedding party shouted, slammed doors, argued, kicked doors, and ran down the corridor screaming!!!!!
On a better note the transfer was very good - local taxi serice A2B - very polite and helpful.
Also bar area was disappointing and quite rough - could wait to get from there.
Would we use it again - Never sorry.

Room Tip: room on second floor was nice but make sure no weddings - you will be sorry.

This management of this hotel need to be ashamed of themselves. Staff are very poor. They dont want to be there and obviously hate their jobs. They all need to taught manners and how to engage with customers. The rooms are very very poor. The Bathroom had a stain on the ceiling and the cudboards were falling apart. The constant banging of doors kept me awake at night and it seemed to be all the time in the early evening. It was the doors to the kitchen. They food was dire. No thought or imagination and the bear minimum they could get away with. It took 30 mins to check out and no manners at all. The management need sacking and a new team brought in as i feel that it has the potential to be great.

There appears to be 2 different sites on here for same hotel. Please check other site:

Just as enlightening in the comments found- including mine.
We had dreadful experience. Make much worse by the disgraceful attitude of Corus Head Office.
Don't book it...please

We stayed overnight prior to going on cruise......to marry. They forgot our 4am wake up call..forgot to have booked the taxi when we raced downstairs within 5 mins...luckily we had a text at 4-35am from friend that woke us....the calling a taxi for us was worthy of the stage!

The best bit was the customer services at Corus Hotels.....3 times they ignored my complaint. On 3rd time. a trainee General manager reduced me to tears...and I am a 53 yr old Nurse Manager not easily upset.

Seriously it was a dreadful experience and too risky if for airport. As for the sullen and unhelpful staff...well that's another story!!!

When I arrived there was a queue at reception they dealtt with a couple of ignorant guests really professionally.
The room was ok (a bit of a feasty smell outside the room)plenty of coffee and tea 1 milk not much sugar and 1 packet of biscuits. The restaurant at 8.30pm weren't sure I could have a meal, so I ate in the bar the food was good the wait was about 30mins, Breakfast was lovely and service faultless.
I would stay there again but feel that with a few tweaks they could simply be so much better

we got to the hotel on 16th September mid afternoon to be told we werent even booked in,even though we had confirmation from First Choice had booked it over the internet on 13th August.after a while we were given a single room i would say as there was only 1 set of towels.the room was dirty with bits over the floor, crumbs and hairs on the side and coffee table, the shower head height adjuster was broken, the extractor fan was noisey too.we were given a room that was at the far end of the hotel with steps to go up and down with 2 heavy cases.we asked about breakfast in the morning to be told it wasnt included, yet we were told by First Choice that it was,the room was next to a fire door which was slammed frequently until gone 5 a.m as there was a wedding party booked in.the reception staff didnt seem to care when we mentioned this.would not recommend this hotel to anyone, the Premier Inn is just a 2 minute drive nearer the motorway roundabout which would have been better and the food in the Harvester was fantastic

Room Tip: anywhere apart from here
