I should have known this place was good for on passing it many many times, I had noted that the car park is always full with a mixture of lorries, motor bikes and cars. It is a traditional roadside cafe or truckstop complete with bare formica tabletops, fixed (rather shabby) plastic seating and plain white walls bearing pictures of motoring-related memorabilia. This all combines with the chalk-board specials menu and huge painted wall-hung main menu to make a pleasant atmosphere.
The menu offers - amongst many great "classics" - any number of "breakfast items" such as bacon, eggs, sausages in a number of set combinations - or if you wish , you can make a combination of your own. I chose to do this by adding fried bread to breakfast selection 2. It seemed like no sooner had I taken my place at the spotlessly clean table, than my meal arrived on a nice big oval plate with all items placed beautifully! The addition of fried bread was a good one - excellent, as was the rest of my breakfast. The ingredients were of high quality and all arrived hot on the plate and were served with courtesy and efficiency! All this for a reasonable price too. I will most certainly visit again.
