Great location. The interiors of the room were as immaculate as the outside.
Nice powerful Shower, telly, etc. Couple of bottles of Bottled water were kept each day of our stay.
They have a pub on the ground floor which is open till late(11PM) so very late check-in is possible which was a must for us as we were traveling from London after work.
We stayed in room 2 and it had great views of the mountain.

Room Tip: Room 2 definitely has very good views

Went to motorcycle trip to Wales on spring. While in Brecon Beacons area after the sunset, searched what's nearby and based on good reviews decided to try Usk & Railway. They had a room available, so checked in and spend a good evening in the pub, had a good night sleep in a spotless, large, modern, luxurious room and in the morning had an awesome, huge English breakfast to start a day. Expect to pay slightly more compared to cheapest B&B options, but its still very reasonable and makes a good deal. Friendly owners really have got it right and deserve their positive feedback, so I will join the choir of appraisals here and happily recommend Usk & Railway.

After spending a long, long time looking for overnight accommodation in Brecon to attend an evening wedding reception, we had almost given up the search. Only to find the Usk & Railway had a room available. How lucky we were!! This is not the normal run of the mill B&B. The room was immaculately clean, modern, spacious and very well presented. The greeting on arrival was excellent, the friendly, young lady immediately offered us the business card of a local taxi firm for our trip into Brecon later that evening. The pub itself was lovely and the food very tasty and plentiful (both evening and breakfast). Only observation was that the barman wasn't really welcoming when we returned at 11pm for a nightcap- shame because that really was the only negative observation we had. Have to say, he was far more accommodating at breakfast, maybe he had a good nights sleep in their lovely comfortable beds! Only 15 minutes from Brecon, we will definitely stay here next time we are in the area.

My husband and I went on an unplanned roadtrip for the second week of our honeymoon and found ourselves in the Brecon Becons. We had no where to stay and saw the 'Usk and Railway Inn' from a distance. It looked nice so we gave it a go. We're so happy that we did! It was easily the best place we stayed in during our honeymoon and probably the most friendly B&B we've ever experienced. The staff welcomed us like old friends and nothing was too much trouble. Couldn't believe what amazing value it was too! We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Thanks to Elaine and company for making us feel totally at home in their superb establishment from the moment we stepped through the door.

The room was immaculate ( nice power shower! and hospitality trays) and the food was fantastic,Gammon steaks are a winner and breakfast was lovely and cooked to order, superb start to the days traveling.

The entire place has been upgraded to modern standards and everything looked and felt first rate.
It's a warm and inviting place to spend time with a great atmosphere at the pub and some really nice ales!!

You won't find better at twice the price !

It was our first trip to Wales, but not our last, and we will always stop over here.

Thanks again Elaine.

A fantastic stay in a lovely setting. The room was big enough to easily accomodate both of us and a travel cot for our Daughter, with plenty of room for her to roam around. The facilities in the room were brilliant, lovely hospitality tray, comfortable bed, towels etc. The staff were friendly and helpful and very attentive. We ate our evening meal in the restaurant, huge portions and so yummy. Everything was clean and tidy and tastefully decorated in modern style and colours. Owners were wonderful and would go out of their way to help you in any way possible. Breakfast was lovely. Fantastic stay for a great price.

Many thanks to Elaine for making our stay so enjoyable. This is not staying in a hotel more like staying with relatives such is the friendliness of the service. Nothing was too much trouble, comfortable room, terrific breakfast cooked to order not a buffet! A good range of evening meals at reasonable prices. This is a great little B&B and at the price £65/night really good value. We will certainly return in the future. We had a roadside room on a hot weekend (yes we do get them occasionally!) and it you could hear traffic with the windows open but only from about 5am.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the road would be quieter.
