“Good value and great food/service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

The food and service was excellent. The owners (I presume) were very friendly and helpful. Just how proprietors should be.
The room we stayed in was average, very clean but we couldn't turn the heating down, so had to sleep with the window open.
We would recommend eating there at least once in the evening. Reasonble pricing and very nice. Good location for the Brecon Beacons, be careful using the sat nav for directions. We ended up on MOD land!
Overall, well worth the money.

we visited this inn in the summer as we were attending a wedding near by. the staff were friendly, the rooms were old fashioned but clean and tidy and suited the inn well. we had are evening meal here and it was lovely. the next morning we were looking forward to the breakfast, thinking it would be on the same par as the evening meal . it wasn't, the full English breakfast was spicy .eggs over cooked and the mushrooms were out of a TIN !!! .breakfast was a let down, hope it has improved . apart from this it was a lovely weekend stay.

I have visited the white house on many occasions, only living 10 minutes down the road. the food is fantastic cannot be faulted, the staff are all welcoming, the landlady is lovely and will always ensure everything with your food is okay.

My room was comfortable and clean and had everything I needed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent. The hotel has a good atmosphere and is in a beautiful setting. I need to go back to that area soon, and fortunately the White House has a room available.

Unlike other establishments in the area, greeted by friendly staff and chef.
Opted for the Sunday lunch which represented good value for money.
The homemade pate was excellent whilst the roast dinners were accompanied by a selection of vegetables which was nice to see not swimming in water.
Only downside was the chocolate tart which was so hard I had to double check it was not still frozen!
Decor was looking a little dated but The White House is obviously popular with locals.

A group of us have recently stayed at the White House for one night, the welcome you receive has a very homely feel, the owner and staff give a really good atmosphere immediately.

The rooms were all clean and comfortable, beds were great, an evening in the bar and restaurant shows that the restaurant is very popular within the area, food couldn't be faulted for the price charged, and the wines were not overpriced.

A very early breakfast was required for our team at 6.00am, this was not a problem at all, personally and superbly cooked by the owner himself - one of the best we have had from any hotel during the past year.

Recommended for the food, value, and general feeling - excellent place to stay

We called in here on a saturday on a whim. Excellent choice on the menu and the specials board. The soup was the nicest i've tried obviously homemade.Lamb was literally falling to pieces, melt in the mouth, gorgeous. Lovely, olde worlde pub, excellent service, fantastic food.
Negatives ?? The only negative i will comment on is the toilets, clean but requiring a serious revamping. Will return
