“quite clean and fine for a quick rest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

stayed for 1 night. the hotel was quite deserted, not many guests were staying at the time. the street on which the hotel is located is on the towns upper part and is pretty quiet, surrounded by old wooden village houses. to dine out or visit the caves you d have to go down the hill.
Its probably the closest accommodation the Ligatne Nature Trails of Gauja national park, but you still better confirm the exact location with the locals so you wont get lost, since the access road is pretty confusing. Once there though, you ll probably find the area very beautiful.

the room was clean and quite new. all necessaries were in place. the breakfast wasnt anything special but we got to enjoy it on the outside verandah. the highlight of te hotel is a huge teddy bear opposite the reception :) you will find many more teddy bears on the 2nd floor and in the restaurant area.

unfortunately the hotel staff was struggling giving any information about the area and barely spoke English.

overall, there is not much choice in that area, so the place is fine enough. free parking beside, free breakfast and clean rooms.

A place to go in summer to visit nearby gauja national park and bear Ilzite :) in autumn there is beautiful coloured leaf fall. The restaurant has very tasty food for affordable price. Rooms are clean and the wiev to forest side in morning is unforgettable :) staff is helpful, a bit language problems but when I was there in 2010 I met vaitress who spoke in English same as in Latvian. They should think about more menus in English and deutch. Everything else was nice. I will get back there again and again as I do it now.

The hotel is small but very beautiful. It is surrounded by beautiful nature - the forest, the river, small hills, caves. Also there are very interesting historical buildings around. The hotel rooms are cozy, clean with a beautiful view out the window. The food could be better, it is very average (both lunch and breakfast). Many tourist attractions are very close, also it is possible to go for long walks. If the weather is good it is possible to relax on the outdoor terrace. If you have the opportunity to visit Ligatne, then definitely try the Ligatne local wine.

This nice hotel in the fantastic environment of the Gauja national park is highly recommended for families who are planning a stay in the smal village of Ligatne. Our view from the room on the endless woods was incredible and the breakfast the next morning was very complete.

A small hotel. Nice, clean with a wonderful view out the window. Breakfast was average, but the atmosphere at the time compensated everything. There is a small parking area, the restaurant and sauna we did not try but it was a nice hotel, so can't say anything bad. Staff was also nice and helpful.
Prices could perhaps be a little lower and the breakfast a little more. :)
Resume: 7+/10 You will not regret it!

Room Tip: Walls are thin, so take care :)

The hotel Lacu Mica is a beautiful log cabin-style hotel in the heart of Gauja National Park, Latvia. Breakfast was always excellent. The dinner was beautiful as we asked for dinner for 10 as the hotel was closed but the hosts where amazing. . Lacu Miga is the Latvian word for "bear cave". Beautiful balcony at front to sit with a coffee and relax.
Will be back for summer solstice.

Room Tip: A view over the back of the hotel, looking over the trees and the old paper mill
