My first trip to Kodiak and of all the restaurants we have tried, Noodles has been the best. It is easy to find and conveniently located. We ate there for dinner last night and were not disappointed. We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. We didn't order anything to drink, but wine and beer is available. The atmosphere is basic and typical of small town Alaska. As a lifelong Alaskan, I don't mind that at all.
We started with the fresh rolls which were standard issue. The sweet chili sauce was a bit different from what we are accustomed to eating. Not in a bad way, just a little different.
We enjoyed the tom sum which came with a side of steamed rice. The soup was hot, very tasty and satisfying. The veggies were cooked perfectly and the broth had a lot of flavor. We also ordered the shrimp pad thai which was delicious and better than some pad thai that we have eaten in urban areas. It was garnished nicely and the portion size was very adequate.
Wait staff was well informed, prompt, polite and enjoyable. We were seated, served and out of there within an hour. We will eat here again.
