We were visiting the wheat belt of WA mainly to see Wave Rock. We decided to stay in Kondinin as it was just a short drive to Wave rock. Would recommend staying at Windy Hill Bed & Breakfast as a much better alternative to the Wave Rock Resort, where accommodation is more expensive & breakfast is an extra charge. We were accommodated in an air conditioned self contained unit, which was simple, with basic furnishings, but comfortable & clean, with an outlook over the lovely garden. A screen door would have helped, as the flies & mosquitoes were a problem. All the windows had screens, but if using the air conditioner in the warmer months no need to open the windows. Our accommodation also included a full breakfast prepared by our hostess Judy, of fruit, cereal, eggs, with choice of sides such as bacon, beans, tomatoes, toast & a selection of delicious home made jams. There was only one dining option, which was the local hotel. The limited menu offered the usual pub fare...... steak & chips, fish & chips, & included a self serve salad bar. We opted for the fish & chips & were pleastantly surprised by the quality, value & presentation. It is well worth travelling to this part of WA to experience not only Wave Rock but the unique beauty of the country side, the salt lakes such as Lake Grace & the stunning Stirling Ranges on the way to Albany.
