My husband and I have become regular customers this year to the Buck Inn after having dropped in one Sunday afternoon for a drink. The reception we received, from the owner Helen, was so warm and welcoming that we decided to stay for lunch and oh my what a lunch it was! A fresh Carvery with 6 differing roast meats including my favourite Venison. I was informed by the chef that the meat was all locally sourced as was the vegetables and all completely cooked from fresh. It was absolutely delicious. Truly The best Carvery I have ever had! We had relaxed that afternoon so much we decided to stay . We enjoyed excellent service all afternoon for the bar staff and entertaining stories about the local area from Helen's husband Wolfgang.
The atmosphere was truly wonderful, so wonderful that my husband booked to stay that evening as a surprise.
The room was very clean, lovely clean, fresh bed linen and towels. The bathroom was immaculate and a great shower which I didn't expect in the countryside. My nights sleep was very comfortable and breakfast the next morning was again fresh, delicious and plentiful. The eggs, after marvellling over their size, I was told where locally sourced duck eggs .Very tasty indeed!
Sadly we had to leave that morning , however since we have returned again and again and always the same, Great food, great service and a truly enjoyable experience each and every time.
We would highly recommend a trip to The Buck Inn.
