“Grape & Wine Festival”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

We all had a great time at Malivoire Winery during the Grape & Wine Festival. We had family over from the U.K. and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience with you. We voted and Malivoire won our selection as the best food & wine pairing for the event! Your Crostini with mushroom ragu and Beef tenderloin...Oh Gawd...my mouth is watering again...was Excellent! (Great Job Charles Inn). Our cousins bought a few bottles to take back to the U.K. as well, so now I know what to bring them next time we go over. It was a totally enjoyable experience had by all!

“so-so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

i think this would have been a better experience if there wasnt so many fruit flies! they were everywhere! also the guy who was helping us was friendly but wasnt very good at reading us & made the visit a bit uncomfortable although he was very knowledgeable. Wines are a great price as well.

“Great wine, Friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

My husband and I have been visiting Malivoire Wine Company over the last 3 years and are wine club members. I finally decided to write a review that probably should have been written a long time ago.

What drew us to Malivoire at the very beginning, of course, was the wine. My husband and I are big fans of Burgundian wines and so we were impressed with the quality of Malivoire Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and Gamays. That said, since we began visiting, we have also enjoyed their Wismer Cab Franc, Pinot Gris and Guilty Men Cabernet/Merlot blend. I am sure I am missing some varietals but the one thing I can say is that you will not be dissapointed if you stop for a tasting here. You are guaranteed to find at least one wine you will like.

Aside from the wine, the staff are very friendly, energetic, passionate and welcoming. Over the years we have been visiting Malivoire, we have gotten to know a few of the staff quite well and even though we visit frequently (perhaps too often), the warm greeting is always the same. The staff are also very flexible, accommodating, and service oriented. Finally a word about the winemaker, Shiraz Mottiar. If you do have a chance to meet him, he is very down to earth and approachable. He takes the time to answer your questions and provides helpful advice when asked. He is also a respected winemaker in the region an is very involved in the community, which we learned from other fellow winemakers in the area.

Overall, if you are planning to visit the NIagara wine region...exit the highway a bit more east (east of Niagara on the Lake - e.g. Victoria Street exit in Jordan or even further east) and visit the smaller, boutique wineries on the bench and closer to Jordan. You will be pleasantly surprised by the quality and level of service which, in our opinion, rivals what you may experience in some of the bigger wineries directly in Niagara on the Lake. Malivoire is definitely one of our favourites in this area. Enjoy!

“Love their wines”

Beautiful winery. Staff friendly and very knowledgeable in their wines. Bought several bottles here. Nice to see the stainless steel tanks in the background of the store.

“ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting this lovely winery on April 21,2013, and what a treat it was. They had a cheese truck that day so after purchasing some awesome grilled cheeses, and doing some cheese tastings, we headed into the winery. We were immediately warmly greeted by a simply lovely woman who gave us a tasting menu and chatted about the winery, and about our tastes in order to personalize the experience. We both tasted three exceptional wines and bought a bottle of the "Melon" white, which was delicious. We also were able to do complimentary wine and cheese pairings in the next room, which we found very fun and informative. We had our rather rambunctious 3 year old with us who was running around, and the woman helping us with the tastings could not have been kinder to him, she gave him a toy (another staff member gave him an apple from her own lunch-wow!) and she engaged him in play. I wish I had gotten her name to thank her here because this is probably the most fun and educational wine tasting we've ever experienced. Malivoire you are awesome, and we will be back!
