I always look for a quiet place, so Doolin View was perfect. It sits on a hill surrounded by pastures. We didn't have a car, but the walk along a little traveled country road took 10 minutes from the upper village and McDermott's pub, one of the main music venues.
Our room was clean and charming, and the bathroom had a nice shower. Breakfast was served in a cheerful room and included unique items like Irish rarebit and Jason's delicious homemade muffins.
Sandy couldn't have been more helpful and was so interesting to chat with. The day we left to take a bus to Galway, Jason offered to drive us to the bus stop. Had it been raining, we would have taken him up on that offer, but instead we had a nice walk down the hill.
If you want to get away from the crowds during tourist season, Doolin View couldn't be a better place for you. If you just want an out-in-the-country experience no matter what time of year, this is the place to stay in Doolin. We loved our stay and Sandy and Jason's hospitality.
