We stayed at Nellie Dees for 6 nights, using it as a base for our travels throughout County Clare. The hosts are friendly and kind (and they accommodated our early arrival). The accommodations are clean, comfortable and modern. The B & B is very convenient to everything in Doolin. Thanks to the owners, Loraine and Jimmy, for maintaining such a nice place for the traveling public.

This is a lovely, clean and modern little guest house. The hosts, Loraine and Jimmy are friendly and accommodating, without hovering. Our room looked like a page from an IKEA catalog. Modern fabrics, pretty pine furniture and a spotless bathroom. It was a short walk to McDermotts Pub for a great dinner and live music. Nellie Dees was a great find and a terrific value.

After studying website and reviews on Trip Advisor, I contacted two Doolin B&Bs to inquire about reservations only to be told they were fully booked. A bit worried, I contacted my third choice and was able to reserve a room. Quite frankly, I'm happy those first two were booked up as Nellie Dee's was perfect.

Upon arrival, we parked on the off-street car park and checked in. Loraine made sure we were settled in before running off to her son's soccer game. (We were past the 6pm check-in time, but had called ahead and she stayed to make sure we could check-in.) The modern house is very clean and tastefully decorated and the bedroom was the largest room we'd had in a B&B during our trip. The bathroom was equally roomy and clean.

Loraine is a friendly, but not gushy hostess – just the right combination for my personality. Her recommendations for dinner and music were spot on and she helped verify our planned route the day we left. Her breakfasts were tasty. The menu was varied and we ordered something different each day. Best brown bread on our trip!

The house is just down the street from the McDermott's pub and the Doolin Café. We took the short stroll for dinner each night and couldn't have asked for more convenient and tasty choices.

All in all, I highly recommend this B&B.
