Great atmosphere, good food and cold drinks. You will run into people from all over the world here, don't miss it. But, I would go to McCann's down the road for music- smaller, more intimate and more of the "locals" will be there than at O'Connors, but do them both if you have time.

I have been to Doolin for 3 years straight and have come to enjoy and appreciate O'Connor's Pub for the camraderie, entertainment and reasonable food and drink. My wife raves about the fish and chips ( says the chips are the best anywhere) I prefer the Guinness beef stew. We go to Doolin in February which for some may be a bit on the cool side, but we come from Maine, USA and it is much like our springtime. The entertainment is mostly local people with a few drop ins . The sessions are a lot of fun and the ballads are historically informative with great story lines. The last weekend in February is the Micho Russell festival and the town is vibrant with visitors and musicians from all over. Makes you wish you lived there.

Very diassapointed with this place, had heard good reviews on trip advisior and had booked dinner for 15 people. when we arrived there were no tables ready for us and we ended up pushing tables together ourselves. I was then informed by the owner that is was a pub not a restuarant and told to have a look around and I would see this! Firstly I had made the booking 2 months in advance and requested that we sat together told be no problem , then I get a phonecall to change the time of my booking which I agreed to, but I wonder why when we could have sat anywhere and was told it was not a restuarant?
Also the way we were treated was a disgrace , the owner was very rude to us and did noting to resolve the situation as we were all cramped on top of each other on small tables.
Thankfully we got a booking elsewhere and left as it would kill me to leave money to a person so rude and unaccomadating, in my opionion lots of lovely places to eat in Doolin would not recommmend here.

“The best traditional music pub in Ireland”

I have brought small tours to Ireland, the last 20 years. My groups and myself always pick Gus O'Connor's pub the best. The Music is great and food is always great. I stay with the daughter of Gus O'Connor's B&B and she calls down and makes reservations for dinner. I can never see having a tour without including Gus O'Connor's Pub

Just spent a great night in O'Connors pub in doolin - the music, food, drinks and chat combined to make a great evening. Try the traditional bacon and cabbage - wholesome and delicious. My wife and I are from Wales, and got talking to an Irish couple who return to Doolin every year. They, like us, preferred the earlier part of the evening, where the music seemed more impromptu, with songs coming from all corners of the room. Our Irish friends felt that the later session was a bit too "diddly-dee" and a wee bit serious, but I still liked it. If you are looking for green jackets, and false touristy schmaltz, go elsewhere. If you just want a great night out, this is the place. The other pubs were a lot quieter, but that might just have been the luck of the draw. Enjoy!
