We have just returned from nearly a month in Ireland and Scotland and we have to say that one of our best nights was at Emohruo Bed and Breakfast. We arrived about 3 p.m. on our very first day after the flight. In learning to negotiate driving on the left side of the road my husband had hit a pothole on the left edge, lost a hubcap and nearly ruined the wheel rim. We discovered this hours later and changed to the "fake" spare tire, but we knew that we had to fix or replace the rim and tire before we could go any further. As soon as we told Margaret, our hostess, she called a roaming wheel service who came to the bed and breakfast within an hour and fixed the wheel at a very reasonable price. While we were waiting she revived us with tea and biscuits, then recommended a pub where we were able to listen to traditional Irish music over supper, rather than waiting until late evening which we could not have done in our jet lagged state. The bedroom was clean, the bed was very comfortable and we were given a choice of when we wanted breakfast (which was not true in some of the other places). We were served a wonderful Full Irish Breakfast while watching a foal which had been born minutes before we arrived in the breakfast room. Margaret could not have been more helpful or hospitable and we will try to stay there when we go to Ireland again--perhaps for several days the next time.
