“The greatest memory on our Ireland trip made here in Doolin with Susan!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

It's been well and often said that a trip to Ireland is about the people. Strong, forthright, industrious, energetic, warm and fun loving too -- all characteristics that make a trip to Ireland so very worthwhile, even in the face of sometimes un-vacationlike weather!! Susan Daly and her adorable homey B&B exemplify the best of Ireland almost perfectly!

Every communication with Susan is helpful and positive, wrapped up in pure fun and joy. The thing that you find so amazing about fabulous innkeepers is that they seem to have an almost endless capacity to serve with energy, focus, a caring spirit, sensitivity, and above all, humor. Some travel folks marvel at Ireland's ancient ruins wondering why they're not officially an "Eighth Wonder," but it's many of its people that deserve that solitary esteemed nomination! From the moment we arrived at Daly's House, we were enveloped in a sincere blanket of warmth, humor and fun. Susan has a way of presenting the most normal aspects of hospitality in a manner that makes one filled with joyful anticipation of everything that is to follow, from room accommodations, to meals, and especially to sharing her town with you, as only she could -- having a rich family history in Doolin going back many generations.

A good innkeeper makes more than just a great Full Irish Breakfast, they make you feel right at home. A great one makes you feel part of the family forever, and all within just part of a day's time! Susan has this gift. It took her minutes to figure out that we were traveling with our four grown kids on our 30th wedding anniversary. No sooner did she garner this nugget of family trivia, than she had hugged all of us and filled our glasses with champagne and filled the parlor with toasts, laughs, and pearls of Irish wisdom ! But for her, it was not premeditated or contrived at all. It's just the way she is.

And by the time we said goodbye, but not farewell, to Doolin, we felt not just part of the Daly clan, but we felt like extended family of all of Doolin. And we packed into our Micro-Van laughing and crying all the way down the road toward County Kerry.

Susan runs a great place and is an absolute delight. The breakfast is great. We slept in the next morning as we had been to a friend's wedding but Susan had some fresh baked scones and tea/coffee on hand for us. No complaints in the slightest, and do not hesitate for a moment recommending it.

We stayed 3 nights at Daly's to end our trip in Ireland. I loved Susan from the moment I met her. She is so lively and obviously loves what she does. Our room was very nice and had the most comfortable bed we slept on during our trip. Breakfast was delicious -- all the regulars plus baileys-spiked porridge and french toast! Susan had many suggestions of nearby attractions and even offered to book reservations for tours & dinner. Walking distance to many pubs and restaurants, the pier, and the cliffs of moher walk. Would absolutely stay there again!

Well join the crowds of people who appreciate this lady and her place. Her enthusiasm, care, and real interest makes you feel like you are staying with a best friend or favorite Aunt. The place is wonderful too. Be sure to go to the silver strand beach, which is a drive, but worth it.

We stayed for 4 days at Daly´s House and enjoyed our time there so much!
Doolin is a very charming little place with lots of B&B´s, a handful of pubs and some nice restaurants. It is a good basis for exploring the Burren, the Aran Islands, the Cliffs of Moher and even a day trip to Galway, Limerick or Connemara is possible.
The owner, Susan Daly, is such a nice, caring and conversational person! She seems to know everyone in that region and we never regretted taking a tip from her. At some places we even got a discount only because we said that we stayed at Daly´s House!
Our room was very cosy and cleaned every day just as our bathroom. The view over a horse pasture and an old castle ruin was very Irish :-)
Breakfast was outstanding! Not only because it was so delicious but because of the people we met there. The breakfast room is situated in a small glass addition to the building and it is so comfortable sitting there watching the clouds floating across the sky and hearing the rain falling on the roof. There is only one huge table for around 8 persons and we sat there every morning around one and a half hour or even more chatting with all the nice people with some of whom we are even now in contact. But if you prefer to have breakfast on your own there is also a possibility.
We can only recommend you to stay at this B&B. It was the priciest one during our stay in Ireland but worth every penny.

Susan is very welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful, and helped us get our visit to Ireland off to a great start! Excellent recommendations and information about local sites; extremely generous (and delicious) breakfasts.
