When my hostel fell through in Doolin because I arrived late on the bus, I was able to check in right away at Rainbow Hostel and snatch up one of the last beds. They even opened up the back family room to be used which had a large bed and two bunks. The beds were clean and I slept super well. The main room has a small wood stove, comfy chairs, and a warm woodsy feel to it. I didn't use the kitchen that was available, but it was sleek, large, and up to date. It felt more like a cozy cabin home than a hostel.
It was a great place to meet people and within walkable distance to pubs to listen to music, or brunch/breakfast options in the mornings. They will also drive a group up and back to the Cliffs of Moher (11km away) if you ask kindly. Not to mention the Eireann Bus Stop is directly across the street if you need to catch a bus to Galway.
The owners even showed extreme customer service and kindness when I accidentally left my journal behind on my bunk. I thought I lost it for good, but they shipped it off to me in Sweden with no extra charge as soon as I contacted them. Wow. I am extremely grateful!
*The only people I would not suggest this place for are those with extreme dog allergies. There is an old sweet dog that wanders around and tries to make the guests feel at home* (I loved it!)
I only have good memories of Doolin and Rainbow Hostel played a big part in that :)
