Cullinan's Guesthouse

We stayed two nights in the bright airy room off the lounge. It was good value at 40 euro a night each with a full breakfast. Everything seemed new and clean. with pine floors, sliding doors to the outside.
We had a delicious dinner there but opted for the pub in "wee" Doolin for our second night. There was music from 4 to 7 that night, a Friday. We were surpised at the number of locals and how they joined in -- singing, doing a jig and even a recitation. It was truly one of our memorable experiences of Ireland.

My husband and I decided to stop in Doolin at the last minute and found a room available Cullinan's Guest House. The room was in the back overlooking a stream. Everything in the room appeared new and clean and was very comfortable. We dropped our bags and went out to Doolin Point where the ferries to the Aran Islands depart from. It was the best sunset I've ever witnessed and I used to live in Hawaii!

We did not go to the restaurant, but only because there was no availability. It was full and everyone was commenting on how great the food was.

We liked Doolin so much that we wanted to extend another night, but they were all booked up. I would definitely recommend!

“Wonderful Views”

Cullinan's Guesthouse

Jul 30, 2007

We arrived at 3am - after getting lost in the darkness of Doolin but was still greeted with a smile. We had the back rooms with the view of the river - how wonderful. Thanks to advice from Trip Advisor to ask for these. The rooms were small but had a very comfortable bed and plush furnishings. We went there to relax and explore with friends. My friend got more than she bargained for - because she is giving birth tonight!!! 9 months after our trip. A hire car is a definite. So many beautiful places - took a boat trip to the Isle of Arran - and had a trip around the island in a beaten up van - was a great crack. The food at Cullinans was A La Carte and was expensive and a one off treat for us - but if you got the cash to splash then it is worth it. The pubs to grub for 10 euros and that was more than plenty to fill you up for the day. I would go back again.

A nice, comfortable B & B -- we stayed in one of the back rooms with a view of the river, and I'd recommend asking for one of them if you can. The restaurant was closed the Sunday night we were there, but breakfast was delicious. The room was modern and comfortable. If we were going to go back, I might have checked out the Aran View Hotel, which looked like it had a lot of character and great views. But Cullinan's is a fine place to stay -- nothing too memorable, but comfy and reliable.

Booked here based on listing in Fodor's. Smart decision.

Bedroom clean, neat and well appointed. Natural wood everywhere. Fine toiletries and soaps in the bathroom.

Dinner is both a la carte and table d'hote, with an "early bird" dining option. Food is outstanding. Well prepared and nicely presented. The breakfast menu offers several choices, including the usual "Irish breakfast" and some totally yummy pancakes (always a treat for an American).

You can't go wrong.
