“Worst B&B in Ireland”

After traveling for 2 weeks through Ireland, staying at different B&B's every couple of days, I wouldn't leave my dog at Doonmcfelin. The owners are careless, sloppy, and uninterested in your stay.

The house wasn't clean, the tennis court is junk yard for kids toys, and the room conditions were pitiful. Several lights were burnt out or not in working condition, the showers were covered in black mold, and the beds were quite uncomfortable.

To top it off, the owners had a nice get together from 1:30 am - 3:00 am after the pubs closed down. Fortunately, one of the other guests complained and it got a little quieter.

My advice, don't even consider staying at this place.

“Cozy place to stay”

I stay at doomacfelim every time I go to Ireland. The first time I ever stayed over at Frank & Majella's place they made us feel so at home.
The food is excellent, the rooms are clean and comfy. But most of all, the warmth of our hosts and the surrounding town draw us in year after year. The prices are affordable too!! You are in walking distance of all three pubs and just a 5-7 minute drive to the Cliffs of Moher.
Majella will be happy to give you easy directions to it. Doolin is a wonderful town that offers so much. I highly advise Doonmacfelim to anyone that is passing through.

Excellent choice for going to see the cliffs of Moher! The accomadations are simply wonderful with a great view of the country side right out our bed room window. Very friendly and helpful owners who told us how to walk to the Cliffs of Moher as soon as we walked through the front door. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Definitely a good choice when visiting Doolin!

If you choose to go to County Clare while you are in Ireland it is worth your while to spend a night or two over in Doolin. My mother & I went to Ireland in late November of 2001. I had only made my first night reservation at Doonmacfelim. It is a guesthouse with about 8 rooms. It was the highlight of our trip. Although we loved every aspect of Ireland (not the driving at first), we had such a good time with the locals and were more than pleased with the hospitality we received at Doonmacfelim. Majella & Frank run the house and are very helpful in suggesting local sights and easy routes to anywhere you want to go. The cliffs of Moher are about an 8 minute drive from Doonmacfelim. The ferry to the Aran Islands are about a 3 minute drive down the road and you can get to any of the local pubs within 45 seconds to about 1 1/2 minute drive. There is so much more to see but you need the time to see it all. We plan on returning this year and look forward to a nice cozy stay at Doonmacfelim. I forgot to mention, we liked it so much we stayed 3 days. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
