We visited the Half Door B&B in September, 2013.
The location is really good. We rely a lot on Rick Steves recommendations, and according to him, there are three really outstanding music pubs in Doolin. Two of those three are about a 3 minute walk from this B&B. And the real reason you go to Doolin is for the music. So it definitely gets a five rating for location.
The room and the breakfast area are very clean and a nice place to stay. Our room was very comfortable and pleasant to stay in. The shower was a bit of a problem because there is a sign posted saying that the shower temperature couldn't be adjusted, and it was actually not very hot.
The breakfast was pretty typical, with an Irish Breakfast offered along with a variety of other things that you could have. There was sufficient quantity, and it tasted good.
I guess the thing that bothered us about this place was that we didn't really feel welcome. When we arrived, Anne came over and checked us in. She went through the things she had to tell us, but seemed very hurried like we were keeping her from something that she would much rather be doing. This was the only B&B that we stayed in on the trip where we felt unwelcome. The attitude was perhaps a little better the next morning, but she was still a bit distant. We made sure to get to know the hosts at every B&B on this trip, but in this case, Ann is a bit of a mystery to us.
