“Superb Getaway Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

Just back from a most lovely relaxing weekend at The Pelican Inn. Very warm greetings from Esther, Bryn upon arrival. Our room was everything we expected. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night and we so enjoyed the food, wine and atmosphere that we booked in for the second night too.

The Pelican Inn was perfectly located for our trips out to the coast and into Norwich for exploring and shopping. And how better to recover than a drink in the bar before getting ready for dinner.

We will definitely be booking again and would recommend The Pelican Inn to anyone looking for a delicious meal or a weekend away from it all.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

Visited for a Sunday lunch for 4 of us. This is not our first trip to the pub and every time we love the feel of the place with a rustic English pub feel with a lovely open fire in through to the contemporary and homely feeling restaraunt in the rear of the pub. Fantastic and beautifully cooked roast beef with great veg selection follow by quite possibly the best chocolate and ghinger cheesecake I have ever had although I could not finish it all (my husband however did manage to do this for me). Would highly recommend for a roast or just a drink in a lovely pub.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

Visited on a Friday night to celebrate my wife's birthday. Could not have gone to a better place. Friendly service and good beer at the bar followed by a great meal in the restaurant. We had pork belly and sirloin steak which turned out to be quite filling and almost passed on the desserts which would have been a mistake as they were superb.
Looking forward to my birthday now!

This place is a little out of the way but well worth the effort. I was on business. Great Beers on draught, a great restaurant that could match the best of them. Awesome breakfast, nothing to much trouble here!
Stayed the night night in one of only 4 rooms. Relatively basic accommodation in my room but clean, tidy and in good fettle. The real magic is in the bar and restaurant. Will definitely return and recomend.

Search out The Pelican! On a damp December today, the roaring fire and great atmosphere made for a delicious light lunch with a steak baguette that melted in the mouth. Top value, great food! The menus were tempting and looked delicious. Very good value - we shall return!

Went on a Sunday late afternoon, were more than accommodating! Was a last minute booking for a table of 8 and they put us in room We asked for and also had a few fussy eaters and offered them anything form main menu rather than roast! Very attentive but not hanging around, highly recommend. The roast beef and was beautiful! Fussy eaters had burgers and enjoyed them. Meals are plentiful and taste lovely. For 8 people with main and most with desserts came to under £140 cheap for standard if food! Again highly recommended!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

Visited on 29 November and stayed over. Really friendly place. Great atmosphere. Had fish and chips which were great and the cheese board (always a barometer for a place in my judgement) which was one of the best I've ever had. Beer was great. Good choice. Real ales. Hope to visit again.
