“Welcoming”

Easy to access from Carcassonne. Sylvie & Christophe warm & friendly and spoke good English. The lovely large double room I had to myself was most enjoyable to spread myself around. Relaxing breakfasts each morning with good coffee and to meet other guests. I live in New Zealand, but was travelling with UK friends. Nearby church bells served as a good alarm each morning.

We stayed one night at Secrets d'Aude on a driving trip across France at the beginning of September. The house is located opposite a picturesque church which dates back to the time of Charlemagne. It's about 30 minutes from Carcassonne, in a tiny village, with places to eat a short drive away. There is free parking available directly opposite the house.
Secrets d'Aude was by far the best quality chambre d'hotes we stayed in and great value, given the palatial room sizes and decor, beautiful house and delicious locally-sourced breakfast which we ate in the unique 'winter garden'. Despite staying in a room which wouldn't be out of place in a chateau, we found all modern comforts were at hand, including wifi, a great shower and tea and coffee-making facilities. Sylvie was extremely welcoming and helpful and we wished we'd booked in for longer.

The place is old and furnished with loving care in a deliciously shabby chic style: we truly appreciated the athmosphere. The owner Sylvie goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and more than at home (delicious homemade jams, croissants and pain au chocolat coming straight from the boulangerie, advice and reservations for dinner in nearby restaurants...). Breakfast is served in a hidden garden and everything is tip top. The village is very quiet and the surroundings deserve to be explored. We quite enjoyed our stay and would like to go back!

Our welcome at this beautiful B&B was fantastic. The hosts Christophe and Sylvie were very attentive and the meal they prepared for us was excellent. Our room was both large and well furnished and all in all I would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment.

My husband and I stayed here in August 2009 for 6 wonderful nights, we had just spent a week on a boat on the Canal du Midi so the location was perfect.
Arianne and Yvon were the most fantastic hosts and couldn't do enough for us.
I am Coeliac and Yvon went out of his way to cook me the most delicious Gluten free meals. We dined with them for most of our stay and we met some lovely people as well.
I booked all our accommodation on the net and we stayed in a lot of different places throughout our 6 weeks in France and I have to say that Secrets D'aude was as beautiful as I was hoping for and more! we had beautiful bathtowels and linen and everything was lovely, we would stay there again without hesitation.

I stayed here with my girlfriend for 2 nights as we drove around France. It way exceeded our expectations. Ariane the hostess and owner was extremely firendly, hspitable and helfpul throughout the whole stay. The room was extremely comfortable and spacious and very well designed. We ate at a restaurant recommended by Ariane the first night which was excellent and on the second day we returned from sightseeing to a superb massage for each of us and a delicious 3 course meal with bottle of local wine. this wasall part of the package offered on the website and cost nothing extra. It was the best value for money I have experienced in a long time. I would be delighted to stay there again.

We stayed for two nights and loved it. The house is lovely its in a v v quiet village 10 mins drive from Carcassonne. We had dinner with the owners and other guests both nights and had such fun. Food was simple and delicious and we were made to feel totally at home and relaxed.

The owners took a lot of trouble to help us with deciding places to visit nearby and loaned us maps etc.
