“oversold. too expensive.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

i was quite dissapointed when i saw the place.
pros: exclusive, as it is a private island
quiet
big rooms
nice view
best bathrooms

cons:
very far from Cebu city unless you're going on a Helicopter to the area
the bed is not that comfy
don't have TV, doesn't have much amenities
don't have bike, it's tiring to walk around
food is soooooo expensive like really expensive.

Positive:

> Good service

> Good and organic food. Thanks to Aga for making our Ginger tea the best there is and to the chef for that cooked –to-perfection grilled tuna.

> Quiet.

> Super clean room.

> Very nice rooms (though maybe a bit old) with wooden floor and amazing bathrooms (the Family Suite) - the best bathroom that I fell in love with, and where I was keen to go barefooted. Actually, we love it more than the Badian Suites.

> Professional and friendly staff especially Mario at Reception and Jenaline at Banca Bar and Restaurant

> Wonderful place

> Systematic and organized staff

> Good water pressure with hot and cold water (Badian Suites)

> No TV which is great if you go there to disconnect from the world and just relax and unwind

> All the staff sang to us when we were leaving. Good experience!

Negative:

- Very costly food and spa. Bring some snacks with you especially if you got kids.

- You have to pay for the kayak and snorkeling gear even after paying P6, 000 or more. In other resorts, they give that for free.

- It would be nice to replace the kayak paddles…

- No privacy in the terrace of where our room was situated. People could see us lounging in that lovely hammock.

- The windows with capiz shells illuminated the lights from the outside which I loved but which my fiance hated. So better bring with you a mask if the light bothers you.

- The shower/bathtub in the Badian Suites tends to get very very hot if you shower late in the morning/day as the roof is made of glass. This was designed for the guests to be able to see the starry night while having a bath in the bathtub or while having a shower. I love more the Family Suites bathroom!

- The Badian Suites accommodation is very spacious but there's nothing much inside. We love the space, distribution, "taste" and "character" of the Family Suites accommodation.

- poor water pressure and not good hot and cold water (Family Suites)

Negative: Food is too expensive for what it was. Beachfront is not like in the marketing photos. Less sand now, more swamp.
Positive: Rooms and garden are nice. Staff is friendly. Dyesebel, the dive master was the best.

They are trying too much to be an "exclusive" place but the beach is not nice enough and the food not good enough.

This place is absolutely horrid

Anyone who gives it more than 2 stars must be getting it confused with somewhere else, maybe the pirate village on the other side of the barbed wire fence, it looked much nicer than the resort.

Room Tip: No room is a good room

This hotel is the best of the best! You will never find the service such their stuff provide in another places, doesn't matter even how much money you will spend. We have never seen so friendly and helpful personnel who can achieve ALL you needs and desires! till the day the room is decorated by flowers about 2-3 times and also cleaned. each detail in the hotel is made up to perfection. If you need to work there is wi-fi connection almost everywhere (also at the beach area). Accommodation are very big and some of them are with hammocks and even private polls with sea water.
We Strictly recommend this hotel to everyone, especially for honeymooners and coupes. It is a really small private paradise!

Very well maintained resort, surrounded by nature. Manager and Staff are very accomodative of Guest need. We enjoyed our stay. It was a bit drive from air-port to resort, but it was all worth for the time we spend. It takes a bit time to deliver food order, and I can say that one will not regret the waiting period. Excellent food. Departure from resort was memorable with everyone singing and saying good bye.

Room Tip: Sea facing rooms gives a much better view and quite relaxing.
