“A truly memorable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2009

We stayed at the Angiolieri for 3 days in June and as other comments on Tripadvisor suggest had a truly amazing holiday. The Angiolieri is in the small town of Seiano away from the hussle of the tourist trail in Sorrento, with an amazing outlook over the bay of Naples. Its location whilst peaceful can also mean that if you dont have a car going out in the evening can be difficult but the hotels superb restaurant more than makes up for this and though expensive is worth every Euro. During the day the hotel shuttle will take you down to the small port where the efficient ferry servce will take you to Capri, Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi - the only way to travel and see the stunning coastline. The hotel is truly a hidden gem with a magic combination of location, exquisite service and fantastic cuisine. The hotel staff treat everyone as individuals and strike the perfect balance between relaxation and formality. The true test is that we will definately be going back but to a room with a sea view.

We splashed out with this hotel. Yes, we did go for one of the cheaper rooms but you would not know it for a minute. Located in the town of Sieano it's about 40 minutes by train from Naples.

The layout it excellent. Pefect to sit in and relax. Would be even better in the height of summer. Staff were increadbly helpful, gave us cables and everything to access free internet in the rooms. We had a balcony which overlooked the ocean, city of Naples and the most spectacular sight ever. Room service wasnt once per day either, in fact we would often drop out for a minute and found everything restocked and beds made in no time.

The restraunt is 5 star, and top notch 5 star at that. Food is simply devine, with helpful staff who will gladly help you out to find your ideal taste. The dinner we had is a memory of our trip we will never forget.

We wanted to really experience our trip and hire a scooter to ride along the Amalfi coast. Staff made all of the calls for us, explained costs (which wasnt much) and really went to the effort to get our wishes coming true. Took about 10 minutes to get to the coast by scooter and really made our trip having this experience (but you do need to be a bit of a daredevil if you do it!) Anyways, moral of the story, the staff made it happen for you.

There's even a minibus you can catch to get down to the Sieno train station that the hotel provides.

Overall, I would be heading back to the Angiolieri in a heart beat. Worth every Euro (maybe even double)

We came here on our honeymoon and I booked it after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. For the prices equivalent I'd be looking at a lesser hotel in Sorento town. Immediately you're welcomed and shown to the room of which is of a high standard and the views (deluxe room) were breathtaking! I know they take a kick on the room price because of the location but they make sure they recoup that loss on the food and drinks. our first meal in the restaurant cost around £150 (for 2 with £30 bottle of wine) and a bottle of beer will cost you £5, and if the 1 star michelin restaurant isn't good enough for you then you can pop down to the harbour to the 2 star michelin restaurant there! If you want something more simple then there are a couple of pizzerias locally and you can always hop on the train to Sorrento.
If you want to chill out for a few days in Luxury then this is for you, If you want to explore then you have to be an early bird as the location isn't ideal. The shuttles to the bay could be more frequent during the day

We just returned from our trip last night and while the experience is fresh I want to include our comments. The restaurant, the entire hotel staff, the well appointed rooms and the beauty of the surroundings make this place a wonderful Italian hotel experience. It's location provides an opportunity to feel like you are really in Italy rather than being overrum by tourists but are yet close enough to drive (or take one of the regularily scheduled boats) to Napoli or the Amalfi Coast. The hotel hangs over the sea with a spectacular view of Mt. Vesuvius. Don't miss the pool. It's not large but it's been wonderfully planned with an illusion of falling into the sea with Pulcinella himself greeting you at the end. I am Italian American who has traveled many times to Italy and have a good grasp of accomodations in Italy. This one is a find. If you are however looking for a hotel in the center of a busy town with lots of shope around to walk to this isn't for you. If you want to enjoy Italy in the elegance of these surroundings, this is it. We only had two nights to stay but we will be back. Once this place gets discovered it will be packed all the time. It's only been opened for 3 yrears but the building is over 300 years old (fully renovated and very modern) and was once a private residence.

We just came back from a wonderful 3 days in the hotel. We stayed in the junior suite with our 11 months old baby. Everything was excellent. The room had a fantastic view and we had morning coffee every day on the balcony overlooking the Naples bay.
The service was among the best we ever had and everybody was very helpful with our baby. We had dinner once in the hotel and the food was great competing with Don Alfonso restaurant.

A lovely hotel that we booked through Expedia and got a good deal (looking at the prices that the hotel charges).
An easy to get to location, situated on a cliff, so the levels of the hotel were a bit confusing and the underground car park certainly had a steep decent. Views were lovely and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, spoke all languages very well. We stayed for my 40th and the staff wished me 'Buon Compleanno' many times and produced a lovely cake at breakfast for me. We ate in the restaurant which was certainly fine dining and the food was a work of art and delicious! The local wine was excellent and we had a choice of oilive oil sand black peppers at our meals. We did eat at a local trattoria which I preffered, the owner didn't speak much English but it gave us a chance to use ours. The trattoria is up the hill the the main road and turn right up towards the church and it was on the right, only 5 minutes walk if that, and I did manage the hill in high heels too. Lovely rustic food and really cheap! We went back a second time. My only negative comment would be on the room, we had a deluxe room with a sea view whcih had a jacuzzi bath but no shower and no mirror in the room or iron. The room was quite modern and very spacious. I would go back again if I was in the area and recommend it for a quiet few days and as a base for siteseeing.

We have just returned from a great week traveling the Amalfi Coast and our stay at the Grand Hotel Angiolieri along with their incredible staff made the trip that much more memorable.

The hotel, staff and location were great!

They staff at the hotel went above and beyond and exceeded all expectations for service during our stay. Whether it was directions, arranging tour guides, recommending places to go, great restaurants to try or anything else we needed, the staff was incredible! We had 3 couples in our group and we all agreed that the hotel and staff added to the overall success of our trip.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and made day trips to various areas each day.

The hotel was located within walking distance of the train station which was great for the days we decided to leave the car and take the train. The parking at the hotel was a huge bonus as parking (and driving) can be quite the challenge.

It was a great hotel to come back to each evening and was located nearby a number of enjoyable restaurants.

Enjoy!
