“We are so impressed. We loved the hotel, the team and the service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2011

We spend 6 wonderful nights at the Grand Hotel Angiolieri. It was unforgettable stay. Nice, lovely room. Quite small but very comfortable. Breathtaking view for Napoli and Vesuvio from the hotel's restaurant. The pool and the rest area so quiet. Very helpful team (especially at the reception desk). Elegant and polite waiter. Unique cuisine. A great thank you to the Chef! We will back there for sure. We highly recommend. Perfect place to get merried and have a wedding reception!

Room Tip: Rooms are quite. The best view is from suites.

Dear Mr. Frans,

Thank you very much for your positive review on this website and for your nice words spent for the whole staff. As a matter of fact, the hotel is not yet equipped with a spa and similar features. However, plans are being processed in order to offer a spa centre, hopefully realized within a few years. Looking forward to welcome you again, and hoping to offer you more 5 star services, we remain with

I initially had my reservations, I had thought I made the wrong decision in deciding to stay here as it was not in Sorrento. I am glad to say that that staying in this hotel was the best decision made during my trip to Italy. It has great connections via the train which is 5 minutes away. Breakfast is very nice. The room was smaller than what I was used to but it did not matter in the end. The staff are very attentive and always helpful, I would like to thank Massimo and the staff at Hotel Angiolieri for a pleasant stay and a great holiday.

Dear Mr. Gills,

Thank you very much for your positive review and for your compliments. We feel glad that you had a wonderful time here at the Grand Hotel Angiolieri. In fact, although it is not in Sorrento, but 7 km far from it, the efficient public means connections such as the train and the boat see to it that you get in Sorrento, Capri, Pompei and other famous sites within a few minutes. The whole staff is looking forward to welcome you again and to arrange you another unforgettable solida.

Warm regards.

My wife and I stayed for a few days for our Honeymoon. The room was excellent and clean and the staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and yet not in your face. They arranged a guide to meet us at Pompei which is definately worth the visit! What an amazing place! Really easy to get to as well as the train station is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. The highlight was dinner every night in the restaurant. Sitting out overlooking the Bay of Naples as the sun slowly set was incredibly. This was always complimented by amazing food! We actually took more photos of food than anything else!! I've eaten in a few Michellin starred restaurants and this is certainly worthy of at least one of those stars. We also ate in the 2 star Saracen restaurant just 5 mins away in the harbour and in all honesty we found them condescending and the food wasn't as good as the restaurant in the hotel.
The only negative, (and this hasn't really much to do with the hotel) is the beach. It's grotty. We tried it for about an hour...but as I said that's not the hotels fault.

If you're looking for a few relaxing days away without the kids than this is the hotel for you. It's worth saving up a few extra quid for the restaurant!

This Hotel really had it all! The location is incredible, overlooking the sea, the Gulf of Napoli, Vesuvio and Ischia. It's close to everything and at the same time it's tucked away from the traffic and noise, so you feel really peaceful there. The rooms are spotless and offer every comfort. Breakfast is to die for, with a very wide selection of home-made pies, and delicious pastries, breads, cheeses etc.served on the panoramic terrace . What makes this a really special place is that it offers the luxury of the best 4-5 star chains, but with the personalized care and service of a family owned pensione - the very best of southern Italian hospitality. A rare find, we will return!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights with our three children.
I chose the hotel
for its location (we wanted to visit Pompeii, Herculaneum and Capri) - stunning location and it was a breeze getting to and from sites via the train (the simplest, fastest way) BUT it is not in a bustling village/town, if that is what you are looking for

its pool (mainly for the 4 year old who I feared might not really enjoy the sites - how wrong I was) - beautiful but unheated - our tough 4 year old was delighted with it; I shivered for quite a while after my dip

and the [amazingly prompt] helpful hotel staff. Finding accommodation suitable for 2 adults and 3 young children (4, 9 and 10) isn't that easy and Angioglieri staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating, from responding to my first e-mail enquiry to sorting out our return to the airport via the Amalfi coast.

The food was delicious, the wine advice superb, the room service fast and comprehensive, the views awesome, the service friendly, unfailingly helpful and effective and the feel of the hotel was just perfect. What more can I say ....

(and after I'd booked a very discerning, well-travelled friend, whose family is from the area, recommended this hotel and now I know why).

This Hotel and it's staff were the highlight of our week-long trip to Italy. Many hotels claim to be grand, however this hotel is truly grand. The rooms are large, beautiful and quiet, the view from the terraces over the bay is stunning, and the grounds are immaculate. The service may even exceed the quality of the hotel itself. They helped us plan our days on the peninsula, arranged local transportation and recommended wonderful local restaurants. We celebrated our 20th anniversary on this trip. Antonio and his staff had a unique way of making us feel like royalty, but at the same time, like family. We hope to come back again. Note: If arriving by train, get off at the Seiano stop. Hotel is roughly 1/4 mile from there.

Room Tip: Get a room with balcony and enjoy breakfast there!
