“A very majestic and welcoming getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

Our first experience together in a Chambres d’hôtes turned out to compare little to any of my other experiences here in France. Out of the three rooms that were available for the chambres d’hôtes, we found it difficult to select one and being the only couple staying there at that time, we were still greeted by a prince’s banquet for a breakfast, finding it difficult to choose where to start and when to finish. Even though the nights fell early, we were never deterred and even profited by the warmth of the fireplace and warm conversation with Veronique and Philippe. We were treated to a delightful tour of the rest of the grounds including the other chambres d’hôtes available, the gîte and the other buildings under repair for future use and we were inspired and breathless with the amount of work, compassion and care that Veronique and Philippe have managed to impart into their renovations. I could not suggest a better place to spend a relaxing, quite and uplifting moment than at the Chateau de Puyrigaud. Thank you both for such a memorable and imprinting experience and we wish you the greatest success for your future renovations and our return.

Room Tip: It is difficult to choose between the three chambres available so we suggest contacting the owners a...

We stayed for 5 days at the chateau. Our hosts, Veronique and Philipe were incredibly welcoming -nothing was too much trouble. Despite the occasional difficulties with the language we were made to feel incredibly welcome.
They are in the process of renovating the Chateau but don't let that put you off - it actually adds to the charm of the place. The rooms that have been completed are immaculately clean and beautifully finished.
If you thought French breakfast was just coffee and a croissant think again; we were spoilt for choice. The jams were all home made the fruit fresh and coffee plentiful!
We opted to have evening meal on the first night and nothing was a disappointment. The table was beautifully set , food delicious and wine plentiful. It was so good that we booked the meal again for another 2 nights.
A wonderful relaxing break.

Chateau Puyriguad is in a lovely rural setting and feels like a luxury home away from home. We stayed with friends in the B&B rooms in the chateau for 5 nights. They are very spacious and beautifully themed, with lots of attention to detail. Philipe and Veronique were wonderful hosts, keen to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and giving us free access to all the facilities. The pool area is great, and a welcome relief on return from a ride on loaned bikes through the vineyards! Breakfasts were relaxed and substantial. We ate at the chateau on 3 evenings, because the food and wine was so amazing, and great value too.

This is the second year we have rented a wing of this amazing chateau which has been renovated in an original and sumptuous style that adds to the original 17th century styling of the building.

The hosts are devoted to the cause of a relaxed visit and the result is just that - total peace in wonderful climate with amazing wines and food on the door step.

We have only stayed in the gite but hear great reports of the B&B as well.
