The views are gorgeous. Lots to do for all ages and tastes. Perfect accommodation with lots of extras. Varied breakfast something different. All in all a fantastic break and lovely hosts. Will be making a 3rd visit when we can.

We had a fantastic two night stay at the Slate Shed B & B in early February. We had a very comfortable room with an estuary view. The full welsh breakfast was excellent, all tasty local products. Thank you to the owners for a very pleasant weekend.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're pleased you enjoyed the local bacon, and sausages and eggs from the farm down the road with their happy free range animals.

What a lovely time we had! Place is totally welcoming in home from home way, but in stylish boho luxury & great hosts. Room we stayed in, Bran, on first floor has it all, estuary view, super comfy mega kingsize bed & plush slate bathroom with freestanding bath perfect for a good lavender soak (provided) after a stomp up rugged valleys or bike ride along the estuary trail - we rode to the beach one day, then to the little town Dolgellau in other direction at head of estuary (very scenic route) for a pootle about and delicious tea and Welsh rarebit toast! Heaven then to chill out on welcoming leather sofa & sheepskin rugs by the cozy wood burner. The 2 dogs and cheeky cat all curled up together by the fireside said it all - perfect peace & harmony:) Thank you Sarah & John for a wonderful special stay, we'll be back!

Room Tip: most fabulous views over the ever changing tidal estuary and hill tops beyond - like a living painti...

Booked this as a VERY last minute one night getaway...unfortunately the weather wasn't great but it is Wales! This hidden gem was a very unexpected find... :) We stayed in Seren (ground floor room) - which the site states has limited views, but the whole area is beautiful and the view from the dining room more than made up for it.
We really liked the quirky names and the decor is beautiful, loved the flamingo wallpaper-you can tell the owners have really thought this through. The breakfast choices meant we were spoilt for choice and was really well cooked :)
We will definately return for a longer period and hopefully when the weather is a little better to enjoy the beautiful views!! :)

Thanks for your review. I'm glad you liked the flamingo wallpaper - I saw the pattern in a boutique in Brighton years ago and always wanted to find a place to use it! Sarah

We enjoyed a lovely three night stay. Weather wasn't brilliant but we were given advice about what to do and where to go for beautiful local walks. Delicious breakfasts and the most amazing home made bread the smell of which wafted up to our bedroom to encourage us to get up in time!

Room Tip: A room overlooking the Estuary is wonderful as the colours of the landscape, whether it's sunny...

Our expectations were pretty high before we arrived in light of their very clever web site that made it look fabulous. However, if you are into 1960's chic then you would be pleased. The room was a bit dark and certainly cramped even though the bathroom was a good size and nicely finished with a walk in shower.

I saw the comment from the owner in response to a previous critical review and it was suggested that the chocolates and other small features that could justify the high prices charged. We thought this was very over priced and the breakfast was a bit overdone and the shared dining room was a bit cramped and not very relaxing.

The staff were friendly and obliging and it was nice being offered tea on arrival

We weren't feeling that well over this weekend and I have left it a week before commenting but both my wife and I decided to stay only one night of the two nights booked and we decided to cut our losses because we just could not settle or feel that great under cramped conditions and so we called it a day and left soon after breakfast

Thanks for your feedback. We’re sorry that John and myself missed you as we were away that weekend. It is disappointing when you look forward to a trip and then come down with a heavy cold, but we’re pleased that you enjoyed aspects of your stay such as the welcome, service and large en suite facilities. It’s a shame you did not get a chance to explore our remarkable location with views and direct access to one of the most beautiful estuaries in the world, let alone Wales.

We offer 5 rooms ranging in price from £75/night and have not raised prices on our best rooms – the most popular - for 5 years. We continue to champion quality local ingredients and suppliers which do not come cheap and we don’t make annoying charges for extras. We also try and go the extra mile to give great service, helping guests plan walks etc. so they can get the most of their stay.

If you were expecting a swanky, spacious boutique hotel with separate dining tables that’s certainly not what we promise on our web site. Our converted Victorian slate cutting shed is full of character with quirky furnishings and yes we do love a bit of 1960s G-Plan chic as well as one off contemporary craftsmanship. It would be great to have a bit more space in some of the rooms but hey, size isn’t everything! I guess it’s a question of taste and, to paraphrase Groove Armada, if every place looked the same, we’d get tired of looking at each others…
kind regards, Sarah
