“Dream of a hotel!”

Don't go to the Oxford area without staying at this fabulous hotel! I stayed with a friend overnight on Saturday. We had dinner there - food was fabulous. Room was spotlessly clean adn the staff were helpful and friendly.
Lovely cosy fire and coaches in the reception area. They have a pool, sauna and gym. Shame we didn't have time to use those, but they looked great.
Room was a good size and bathroom had a nightlight so you didn't have to switch on the main light if you had to take a trip there during the night. I thought that was a nice touch.
Speedy checkin and checkout - what more can I say!

Room Tip: We stayed on the top floor - no lift, but great sized room

As the organiser my wife I had checked out the hotel in advance. They delivered on every promise and claim they made. Some members of our group of eight can be very picky. At the end of the weekend ALL were agreed -GREAT overall QUALITY experience. The Friday night meal was excellent everybody was pleased with their choices.Breakfast was tops - well cooked, no queues at 9.0am or waiting for dishes to be replenished. Toast, tea and coffee on the table as soon as you sat down.Staff-there were plenty of them, were very friendly and all helpful. We booked for the disco Sat evening and entered into the spirit of it by dressing up as did the majority. The tables mixed and were very friendly Throughout the evening the dance floor was lively They asked for and played requests and music spaning several decades and popular taste. The standard of the costumes was fantastic. Maybe they should consider a small prize for best costume. The friendleness carried on the next morning as we discovered the persons behind the masks and wigs at breakfast.Much LAUGHING throughout.Rooms immaculate and well serviced.

By far one of the best places for holding training. It has everything to suit every type of training module. The biggest feature is they cater for the disabled very well. They do not claim to be a hotel but a training facility. Their rooms are basic but comfortable. Staff are pleasant and will bend over backwards to please you. The grounds are superb for any type of outdoor team building event and they are licensed to cater for motorised events. You really need to see the grounds. Ate dinner in the mansion which is beautiful - you can see why weddings are held here. Food 5* - you will not be disappointed with any aspect of this hotel.

We spent a night to celebrate my birthday and the hotel exceeded expectations. Staff were friendly and the room was reasonably sized and well equipped. I would particularly comment on the quality of the dinner, served by pleasant but not over-familiar waiting staff. There some minor quibbles - one of the lights in the bedroom did have a bulb and coffee turned up before the dessert - but these did not detract from the overall quality of the experience.

The Four Pillars hotel group has a chain of quality hotels around the Cotswold area, with prices to suit most pockets, yet with consistant professionalism, - as I have stayed in them all.
The `Oxford Thames` is a Cotswold stone-built hotel located by the river bank in Sandford, about three miles south of the city, where a local river-boat service can take and land you in the heart of it, or you can drive yourself, and park in their sister hotel `Oxford Spires` grounds, and walk the remaining 500 yards along the tow-path.
I visited in response to a `72 hour notice` offer that was too good to refuse, and was surprised at the spacious room allocated, and the food,- which was the tastiest yet of all their group.
There is an intimate atmosphere through-out with subdued lighting, although I would have preferred brighter lights in the communal reading area.
the service was welcoming, helpful, and friendly, with clean freshly-decorated rooms,-(in my case) - easy close-parking, swimming-pool & spa,and good quality maintenance to the perimeter grounds, down to the river-bank.
- Very good value for money if you want to visit Oxford, and are in a position to take advantage of their last-minute offers.

Just returned from our second stay at this hotel. Whilst the Oxford Spires is closer to the City Centre, this hotel is smaller and more intimate. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. Public areas are well maintained and the decor is in keeping with the style of buildings. We enjoyed a swim in the pool and spa but cannot comment on the gym facilities. The grounds are immaculate and vast and run down to the River Thames. Very picturesque spot for a wedding!! The quality of food, at dinner, is exceptional and extremely well presented. Buffet style breakfast offers a wide choice of continental or full English. Staff throughout the hotel are cheerful and attentive. We will return!

We stayed here for a 1 nights stay, dinner, bed and breakfast.
The Hotel is lovely as you arrive, the barn/reception is beautiful and very relaxing.
The room, well, not much to be said here.... Premier Inns have a better quality to them! The room was small, dingy and the carpets were well worn.
We then went for our inclusive set menu dinner..... every member of staff hardly seems to understand or speak English! The service was slow and the restaurant was empty! The meals were tiny and we left hungry! The choice was boring and the food wasn't very fresh.
We then had a drink in the bistro bar, this was very plesant.... but £14.50 for 2 drinks.... day light robbery if you ask me!!
Then we went to sleep.... bed wasn't the most comfortable but we did sleep ok....
In the morning we went for our breakfast..... my oh my how things have changed... years ago they used to offer a buffet which was great as you could have as much or what you wanted.... now you order what hot stuff you want and they bring it out... again.. TINY amounts!
The tea and coffee were nice, the cereal and fruit had seen better days.....

Come on Four Pillars, step it up a bit! Bigger portions and more friendly chatty staff wouldn't go amiss!!
