“Worth the Drive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

This is completely amazing, I loved it because it was so far out of the way and peaceful. It is a completely free site with some good signage in key points around the site.
I must agree with other reviews that this place is completely unique for ancient history. My girlfriend is not keen on my love of 'old stones' yet even she was moved by Carn Euny.
There is a stillness and quiet at the site that is amazingly peaceful, it is also one of the few prehistoric sites where you can fully interact with the site, you can touch the same stones that were lived in thousands of years ago. The fogue (cornish storage cellar/temple/bolt hole, no-one knows) is amazing, it is an underground building that is made of stone with bioluminescent moss on the walls.
All in all this is an absolutely amazing site, it is quite hard to follow signs to Carn Euny so obtain some directions from: http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/properties/carn-euny-ancient-village/directions

“So much history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

It was amazing to walk around the ruins of this village. There is not charge, although a donation can be let in a box. You can walk around the houses and a couple of information boards are on site. It would have been great to get more information on site but books are available. It is possible to enter the original underground passages.

“Stepping back in time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

In my experience, Carn Euny is a unique place and worth finding if you have an interest in ancient history. 'Find' is the operative word because it is in the middle of nowhere and there is limited signage. Check directions on the English Heritage website (admission is free) and look for the board giving final instructions on the five-minute walk.

Because the village was occupied for 900 years, tracing the different phases of building is virtually impossible, but don't let that put you off. The sense of community remains and it is easy to understand how life was concentrated here in an otherwise mostly unoccupied landscape (which is still the case).

We were lucky enough to be the only visitors there (even on a sunny day in June) and it had a lovely atmosphere and beautiful views.

“Off the main road lies an ancient settlement.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2011

1.5 Miles off the main road from Lands End Lies the South West best preserved Ancient Settlement. Follow the winding road, park up and walk 450 mtrs up a path and you're there.
A nice place if you're into Ancient Settlements.
