“Ireland at it's best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

Born and raised in Ireland....no idea about sheep!!!! Went to Killary with friends from the States...their idea, not mine!!.....guess what?... I loved it!! . If you want to see authentic Ireland with brilliant views of Ireland's only Fjiord bordered by Connacht's highest mountain- Mweellrea, this is the place. Tom is 3rd generation Connemara farmer and your tour guide. He knows this land like the back of his hands. We got to see his sheepdog Roy rounding up the sheep, we walked the mountain and cut turf. We sheared sheep and fed the lambs. A really cool experience, allowing my mind to rest in a place where all is good and green :))

“A must do for anyone in Connemara”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

This is an experience people of every age will enjoy - from the youngest of children to the grandparents that accompany them, all are blown away. If you are anywhere near Leenane, you must visit. Tom is an amazing guide, and shares his farm and talents as a sheep dog trainer, hand shearer, and peat cutter with all. The kids loved running through the hills with Sweep, the sheep dog, and getting to bottle feed the baby lambs. Definite highlight of our trip!

“One of our favorite days in Ireland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We traveled up to Connemara to see the rugged countryside and stopped here since I had seen it on Trip Advisor. What a fantastic time we had there. The farm overlooks the beautiful Killary Fjord. We arrived at around 2:45pm for the 3:00 tour and walked around at the sheep barn admiring the view. Tom came down at 3pm with his dog Sweep and introduced himself to us. He then sent Sweep into a field and with just a few commands, got Sweep to round up all the sheep in the field into a pen. Without a word he grabbed a sheep and in 5 minutes he sheared the entire long shaggy coat off of the sheep. Next he outfitted us with wellies, walking sticks and ponchos and we hiked up to a bog. He patiently explained how the bog was formed, then demonstrated cutting peat bogs then letting us have a try. During all this it started raining and blowing, but I didn't even notice I was so immersed in what was going on! On the way down to the sheep shed he had us stand with the fjord behind us and Sweep came right over and sat down so that Tom could take a picture of us in that beautiful place with Sweep at our feet. You could tell Sweep was very used to doing that! To top off the tour, we were able to feed baby lambs which was hysterical. I thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend it. It is just minutes away from Kylemore Abbey, so don't miss it if you are up that way.

“So fun! Really recommend this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

The babies were SOOOOOO cute. Got to feed them from bottles, learn about why they were on their own and get really up close and personal with them. The dog was amazing,,, wish mine were that smart. Hiked up the hill and got to dig in the bog for peet ourselves. Just a great experience. The owner was fantastic and shared personal and business information. Just a very welcoming and fun time. Really wish my kids had been there cause they would have had even more fun than I did. Just getting geared up for the bog was fun,,, Some of our Ireland's best family fun pictures are of us putting on our rubber boots. REALLY recommend.
