“superb stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Three wonderful nights allowing me to explore Enniskerry, powerscourt, the wicklowway... If you like clean/quiet rooms, comfortable beds, hot showers w/great Water pressure along w/a wonderfully filling breakfast w several options...then you need to stay here.... yes, its 2.5 km from town, HOWEVER there's a bus stop directly out front, a taxi driver who gets you there promptly and Mary, who endeavors to support her guests w rides to town, at minimum one way every day....
Amenities like wifi (wonderful to keep in touch w loved ones), a myriad of books to enjoy as well tv if you need it.... there's coffee or tea every afternoon as well! The key for me, as a solo female traveler is that I knew Mary kept an unobtrusive but kind eye on my comings and going and that is reassuring particlarly when I was hiking the wicklow way...knowing i'd be missed if something went amiss!

We stayed at Brook Cottage for two nights in May 2013. We were hiking the Wicklow Way, and our hosts made us very welcome with coffee and cookies when we arrived. The cottage is charmingly decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, and we were happy to have a choice of cooked breakfast items, from the "full Irish" to salmon and eggs or omelets. Our hosts provided excellent service and even gave us a ride to town and to the train station. The best B&B of our Irish vacation.

What a great starting point for Ireland. After traveling all day we made our way to brook cottage. It was wonderful. Out in the country, we had a quiet nights sleep. When we arrived we were tired and worn out. Mary offered us a sandwich and fruit. It was perfect not to have to run out again. Would highly recommend.

This B&B is tough to beat! Mary is such a gracious and kind host who makes you feel welcome right away. She really goes above and beyond to get you settled in. For example, we arrived a bit early (3pm) and she invited us in and made us tea and sandwiches before we crashed for the night to sleep off the jet lag. Outstanding! Thank you so much from both of us.
The rooms are quiet and well equipped. Our bed was large and comfy. The setting is unbelievably beautiful and filled with country noises with plenty of parking. I would recommend staying here to see both Powerscourt gardens and glendalough. But for us, the host will make us return.

Room Tip: The lower rooms are two different sizes depending on your needs. We prefer the smaller room as it ha...

First of all, Mary is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She goes out of her way to make sure that everyone is comfortable. Second, the cottage is in a beautiful location, nestled in the Wicklow hills, right on the edge of Powerscourt. The Wicklow Way is just a mile up the road and the lovely illage of Enniskerry two miles away. I stayed here in winter and it was very cosy and extremely reasonable. A great place to get away from it all.

If you are looking for respite from your busy life, some peace and quiet in a lovely setting this is for you. The host Mary was very helpful regarding local restaurants, directions and even helped us book our next stay. Breakfast was wonderful. Best fruit in the whole trip. The location is a little farther out of town than described in the travel books but well marked. Great location if you are just arriving in Ireland or are going into Dublin or flying out the next day.
