I stayed at this hotel on Saturday 13th June while attending a wedding and from the moment we arrived at the hotel we recieved four star treatment. I work in the hotel industry myself so can be a hard critic but this hotel is without fault. It is the perfect location for a wedding and is a must visit for those looking for a wedding venue. I hope I have the oportunity to visit this hotel in the future. For its service, surroundings, food and location, the hotel delivers all that a four star hotel should offer.

Check into the hotel for one night, got a good rate for three , €50 per person bed/breakfast.
Went to the Restaurant and the food was excellent really good value. Leisure Centre
very good but could do with drinking water facility beside sauna/steam room. Could not
find any cold water to drink but beside that very nice and clean.

Great value and good food. The presentation of food excellent and very friendly staff
and great attitude to customers. Would and will go back there again.

I'm just back from a trip to the County Arms Hotel in Birr with a group of friends and family and we all had a great time. I was anxious before i went having read some of the reviews on this site, but its a really nice place. All the employees that i met were friendly and cared about looking after us - one guy brought 3 of us down town in his car - its only a 5 minute walk but he said he was going anyway - i think he just did it to be nice. That's the kind of place it is. the Pool area is great, the changing rooms aren't amazing but they're clean and the showers were strong. Food was good, we had a dinner party and it was in a gorgeous old room - like something you'd see in a posh 5 star. we're going to go back on our next visit to ireland for a lads golf trip - they really couldn't do enough for us - I love it.

Stayed here for one night with my girlfriend. We were given an "overflow room" because the hotel was booked up. Id have found a better room in a hostel. Because there was a function on the rooms were twice the price, thats €140 for a Wednesday night as opposed to €75. They doubled the price for the event as opposed to giving a good competitive price for filling up the hotel. The shower flooded the bathroom because there was no noozle on the shower head and the nob for turning on the shower came off. The changing rooms in the pool area were shockingly bad. Havnt been updated in 20 years id say. None of the lockers worked so you left your valuables in your shoes at your own risk. I could go on, basically if you can find somewhere else to stay then do. One thing, the lady at reception - Ramona i think was her name - was very nice and helpful.
