Made reservation for lodging and golf with David through phone calls and email. Arrived early for check in but no problem for David. Very nice big house and lovely grounds. Big car park in nice courtyard. David showed us around. Delightful man. Lovely big lounge for guests with big flat screen tv and comfy leather couches. Breakfast room was big windows all around the room for a lovely view. A nice guest computer. Our room was upstairs. Very big with a double bed and a twin, small frig, coffee and tv. Bathroom had shower and tub and nice size. Breakfast was very nice. Be sure to have David’s special pancakes on the weekend. We loved them! David had arranged our golf at Ballybunion Golf Course and all was in order for us. We went to the Marine Hotel for dinner on David’s suggestion. Right on Main Street overlooking ocean. The food was so delicious and presented so nicely. We really enjoyed our stay here

If you are looking for a convenient, clean and friendly B&B in the Ballybunion area this is the place for you. This home is well appointed and the beds are super comfortable. Have I mentioned how clean it was..... sheets are bright white and smell like the fresh outdoors. David is the host you will see the most of and he is helpful and knowedgeable. Doreen is in the back of the house making a killer breakfast and servicing the rooms like a stealth fighter.
The golf course and downtown/beach area are a simple 5 minute drive away.
I would highly recommend the Tides to others for their stay and hope to one day return myself.

Room Tip: we stayed in the large room upstairs, one queen bed and 2 twins, large bathroom, desk area, dressing...

My best buddy and I stayed there as part of a long golf weekend in Ireland. I highly recomend the Tides for anyone looking for a "home" base while on the western coast of Ireland. You are literally minutes from the Ballybunion Old Course and it is a good jump off point for other courses in that region. The Tides itself is by far the cleanest accomodations I have ever stayed in. You really feel like you are staying in your own house (but maybe cleaner!). David's wife (Doreen) is the reason for that, she keeps a low profile, but her impact, be it the cleaning or the breakfast really makes their individual impact to your stay. Don't scoot out to play without your breakfast. We never needed lunch. David is the "face" of the place and is quite a character...in a good way. He is a gracious host and being quite the accomplised golfer, knows the lay of the land so to speak. He was a wealth of local advice and stories to back them up. Something that I didn't know before, but I do now, is that David also runs a trip/tour organizing business along with his B&B. Based on his local knowledge, it is our intention to have him organize our next trip prior to going over. We will definitly return and when we do, the Tides is without question, the place we will stay.
PS- For a fun night out, the Exchange Pub is the place to go, but plan on utilizing the services of Billy the Taxi driver!

My Dad and I stayed here during our golf trip to Ireland. David was very accommodating of our very late arrival and Doreen made us a very good Irish Breakfast. Great place to stay, large and very well done guest rooms.

This B & B met all our requirements: quiet, bright, clean spacious room with a nice sized bathroom. It was only 5 minutes from the town of Ballybunion and 5 minutes to the golf course. Dave, the owner, is friendly and loquacious. He was around to answer any questions, including golf tips as he is one of Ballybunion's stars. He also makes a delicious bowl of oatmeal and a lovely Irish breakfast. If you need help planning golf outings or tee times anywhere in Ireland, he is your man.
