“An Excellent Stay in Ballybunion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2014

Although not located in the middle of town, the Teach de Broc, located just across from the entrance to Ballybunion Golf Club, is a memorable experience unless you're looking for nightlife (if so, you'll have to travel 2 km into the village center). Otherwise, you couldn't ask for a better location if your're touring the area or tackling the golf courses. The owners and staff are cheerful, engaging and eager meet every guests' needs. The rooms are large comfortably furnished and the showers are large and strong enough for a good massage of tired muscles. A great surprise for us was the excellent dining room, Stroller's Bistro (see separate review). The chef and the staff are outstanding and the food at both dinner and breakfast are worth a separate visit. When we departed after our 3 day stay, we felt we were leaving friends behind that we hope to see again.

Everything about Teach de Broc is outstanding--from the comfortable rooms decorated in soothing tones overlooking the Irish countryside and the Ballybunion Golf Course, to the exquisite dinners at Strollers, including lettuce fresh from their own garden, to the scones made by Aiofe herself at breakfast, we can't recommend this lovely hotel enough. Now wonder they've won Best of Ireland awards several years in a row!

Room Tip: I think all the rooms in this lovely hotel are good.

Aoife and Seamus know how to run a hotel, the moment we arrived I felt like we had all met before, the welcome was amazing. Nothing to fault about the hotel ,rooms, facilities, our room - (12) was large, beautiful king size bed, great shower and totally spotless. Don't be fooled that this is a hotel just for golfers. We stayed for 5 days to explore Co Kerry and never touched a golf club. Every morning and every evening the team were interested in where we had been and had we enjoyed our day. Breakfast probably the best I have ever had , we had dinner in the Strollers restaurant twice during our stay , beautiful food . Make sure you eat in or have a drink there on a Saturday evening, we were enchanted by the classical pianist who accommodated our request. It was my first visit to Co Kerry and Teach de Broc and it will not be the last. 5 days was not enough. The whole team right the way through are amazing and special love goes out to Wendy.

Room Tip: At the front of the hotel you can watch the golfers on the practice range which was good fun.

There are so many wonderful things to say about Teach de Broc. This is absolutely the only place to stay and dine in Ballybunion. Perfect location, across the street from the clubhouse and about 100 feet from the driving range with expansive views of the countryside. Our room was well appointed, cozy, and the beds were divine. The owners, along with their warm and friendly staff make you feel very much at home. Breakfast is not to be missed, everything is homemade. The chef is a genius, every dinner was a refined culinary delight and so delicious. Truly a wonderful place to stay.

Extremely pleasant and personable staff. Very accommodating. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Well appointed facilities and well maintained. Right across from golf course with views of Cashen course. Highly recommend you stay here.

Had 2 dinners that were exceptional at Strollers. So were the breakfasts as well.

My Husband and I recently stayed at Tech De Broc while golfing at the Ballybunion course. This country house is so quaint. Rooms are large and clean. Ours had a fireplace that we did not use, but if we were there for a longer stay, we would have. We only stayed one night due to golf commitments throughout Ireland, but our one night was great. The Proprietors Aoife and Seamus
are the reason why this place feels so homey. They are truly wonderful, kind, generous people.
We had a very early tee time, but that didn't, matter to them when it came time for breakfast. They insist you eat before you leave and it was delicious even at 6:30am! We also had dinner at their restaurant "Strollers". It was excellent and Dermot the Manager makes sure your happy. Don't miss an opportunity to visit with them. Pamela Ciesliga

As an Irish born citizen living in New York for the last 55 years, I finally found a charming top notch hotel with excellent food that could rival any 5 star restaurant in the big apple! The accommodations made me feel like I was staying at the Four Seasons in Hawaii, fresh breezes blowing through the room whilst i looked out at golfers teeing off in the distance with the backdrop of the green mountains and beautiful sea. Breath taking ! The staff could not be kinder and attentive to every detail, fresh flowers, freshly picked ingredients for salads picked from their private garden only starts to define the experience! The charm and warmth displayed by owners Mr. & Mrs. Brock rubbed off on their son Dermott who was happy to share the various wines and changing menu every night . My wife and I spent 10 days enjoying the experience and had no intention of staying quiet that long. A must for anyone visiting Ireland.
