I stayed at Bunratty Castle Mews last year (May, 2007) and was pleased to write and tell others about my stay there. This was the first B&B I contacted when I knew I was coming back to Ireland this year (2008). It is a joy to report that the quality of Bunratty Castle Mews has only IMPROVED since last year.....and I was completely pleased last year. I believe Dolores and Garry O'Toole work hard to make their B&B the best experience and still keep the value for their guests.

Dolores has added evening meals which I enjoyed several times while staying this year. After a day of sightseeing, it is nice to relax in a quiet place to eat a simple, or fancier meal....your choice! While going out for meals is great with so many wonderful places in the Bunratty area, sometimes a quiet meal after a late afternoon nap is the perfect way to relax without driving.

Breakfast here is a real treat. I want to learn to make scrambled eggs like Dolores does! Rashers, Irish bacon, are the best quailty, no limp fatty ones here. You can count on home made breads or scones and fresh fruit.

Dolores still makes time to greet guests with a fresh pot of tea with cakes or cookies. This wonderful custom seems to be fading at some B&Bs. It feels more like a house party here rather than an accommodation. It was a joy to see the sisters I met last year on their annual 3 weeks stay. Also I enjoyed meeting other guests from around the world. This B&B is spotless! The linens are fresh smelling from being hung out in the good air, then presssed before being put on the beds. Dolores has added some flat screen TVs since last year and her wireless router makes it easy for a traveler to check email.

As I ended my last year's review: Dolores, please keep my room ready....I'll be back soon, please God! If you haven't guessed, I loved staying here! <smile>

Delores runs a beautiful spotless b/b. We were greeted by Delores with tea and cookies spotless white linen on the tables in the dining room the bedroom was beautiful spotless linens fresh from the line. The view is amazing from her place. Bunratty castle and the Dirty Nelly's pub is close by. AL:L in all a lovely visit and i would recomend it to anyone who wants the real irish experience in a b/b. Thanks Delores for sending back the things i left again nothing too much trouble for our wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were amazing.This being our honeymoon a very romantic place to visit.. Perfect base location for doing road trips to the most popular places in Ireland.

My Husband and I celebrated his Birthday with a 3 night stay, 7th,8th and 9th May 2008. Dolores and Garry are the perfect Hosts who make you feel so welcome. The whole House is spotless,all the rooms are lovely and the Breakfasts are fantastic. You are spoilt for choice. On arrival, we were greeted by Dolores with a pot of tea and some lovely home made scones. She told us all the interesting places to visit and helped with directions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return. We cannot recommend this place enough.

A comfortable ,spotlessly clean,spacious B&B with genuine ,warm,friendly hosts set amongst beautiful countyside all within walking distance of Bunratty Castle and Durty Nells.
Oh ..and you can't top the breakfast. Excellent.
