“Absolutely the most fantastic experience :>)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2009

I had the pleasure at experiencing first hand the most well managed wedding venue I ever attended. My friends wedding was held at this hotel on the 6th of June and what a fantastic day we had. The decor both in the bar & the function room was out of this world with all the added extras not going unnoticed!! Even down to toiletries in the ladies - what a faboulous touch especially when your lucky to fit a lipstick in any hadbag you would take to a wedding! The food was devine & piping hot, and the service second to none. I really have to had it to all the staff nothing was too much trouble especially considering it was a large wedding. Well done to you all!!!

Majestic, Not! We stayed in this hotel for one night and it was one night too many. Needless to say, never again. A rip off for nearly 100 euros.

We booked on the internet and thought it looked nice and updated. Wrong. When we arrived, the outside area was lovely and bright and the lobby seemed modern and clean. We thought we were on to a winner here. How disappointed were we? As soon as we entered the lift, it was like we stepped back in time. The lift was rickety, to say the least and old. We entered the room and wished we hadnt.

The curtains and bedclothes were a garish orange. You wouldnt want to have a hangover! They forgot to finish the plastering by the radiator, the lampshades were circa 1975, think my gran had one similar. The light switch was a string from the ceiling. If you wanted to use the hairdryer, then the TV had to be plugged out and if you value your life, I really wouldnt recommend using the hairdryer. It didnt look too healthy!!!

The bar seemed lovely with modern and up to date furniture but just wait for about 5 minutes. Thats about the time the smell hits you. Musty and reminded me of a nursing home. Not Good!!!

The breakfast was so so but wasnt expecting cocktail sausages for breakfast. Im 35. Think I can manage full grown up sausages now.

The only redeeming feature of this "hotel" is the friendly staff. Apart from this, the only time we were happy was when we checked out and could leave. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Despite the atrocious Irish weather, we had a great time in Tramore. Kids loved the beach, cold sea (!) & amusements. Majestic staff v v friendly & a good laugh. Hotel was quite good value although Ireland in general was a lot more expensive than I remembered a couple of years ago. Room was good for my family & we had a nice sea view. Food was better than most of the restaurants we tried around the area. We had a fun time here so I'd recommend it to other families.

We booked a two night deal here for €170.00 pp for B&B + dinner on one night. It was a rip off at that price. The hotel is old and musty only being disguised by an updated foyer, which is nice and bright. At first glance the restaurant isn't bad, but everytime we went there the table cloths were dirty, they obviously never change them. The food is just so so, nothing to get excited about. The bar is horrible, a big dark room with really outdated furniture, I wouldn't have gone there for a drink if I was paid. The bedrooms are very standard, quite small with cheap laminate floors and the bathrooms are tiny. We were not very impressed with Tramore as a destination, quite tacky. Would not go to Tramore again and certainly not the Majestic.

we brought our 2 year old son to tramore last july and stayed at the majestic. we booked it through tramore.net and got it cheaper than if you were to book it through the hotel direct. the receptionist made a point of telling us this and other customers who were waiting th check in which made us feel like scrooges!!!! what differance did it make to her how we booked it? the hotel looks nice from the outside and reception area and our room was nice aswell. the car park is accross the road at the bus stop where you can get the bus into the city, very handy , not expensive and saves you searching (and paying) for parking!!!!! the bar was dated (very) and i have never ever came accross more ignorant bar staff. how dare you ask for a drink? the left me standing waiting for ages, seemed to serve my partner a little quicker not a whole lot. this is not a family friendly hotel where you can have a quiet drink at night time. our little boy was asleep in the buggy on the second night and at 9 o clock we were told we had to finish our drink and leave. now i could understand if he was running around wrecking the place but he was fast asleep. we had no intention of staying all night we were going to leave anyway shortly after but this made us feel under pressure and very uncomfortable. the same happened on the 3rd night except our boy was awake and at half 8 we were told we could have a drink if we drank it in the lobby!!!!!!! now i ask you? i will never stay again def. would not reccomend for families

  • Liked — we had a balcony in our room that was about it

We stayed at Hotel on June 27 as part of a Cosmos Tour. The hotel has a great location accross from the beach area with plenty of activies for kids and adults. The bar and front area is a nice place to sit and visit. We did have a problem with our hand held shower head not wanting to stay put but managed a shower anyway.

  • Liked — We had a nice view overlooking the beach area but far enough away that we got good sleep.

Spent a few days in the Majestic Hotel, Tramore over the kids Easter holidays- weather was gorgeous- bright blue skies-great hotel, very child friendly- food was very tasty and room was clean, bright and comfortable with fab views. Kids loved Splashworld across the road but mainly the beach just a few minutes walk away-they ate icecream and built sandcastles in March!!
