“You cant buy what this hotel delivers!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Some friends and I stayed here one night two years ago. It May seem odd to write a review so late after staying, but it's been on my mind lateley so I Finally got around to doing it. First, the staff need a special mention. They were everything you could want and more. Helpful and friendly without going overboard, so you know it's genuine. Instead of repeating myself, I needed to mention the staff on their own.
We were in tramore for a music gig at the hotel - the hotel owner has a real Keen interest in bringing Irish talent to the hotel. The bar was very Irish, and there was a nice mix of families staying on holidays, younger people and some locals (im assuming).
Room were clean and had everything you would need. To be honest if you are in tramore for a stay you should Enjoy the nice food and the beaches and scenerey close by. For anybody looking for a genuine Irish hotel experience with buckets of irish hospitality with a twist, then the Grand is the hotel to try.

great value for money, when you pull up outside this hotel it doesn't look great it looks a bit scruffy and old, but when you walk inside its very nice the reception, restaurant and bar is all very traditional but really nice, the staff are extremely nice and the location is perfect, we had a front room with a great view of the beach. but the best part of this hotel is the food, we got a set meal with wine it was an excellent price and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend this for a family break, with young kids or teens

Room Tip: front room was great

April 2014. We arrived tired and ready to put our feet up, after our first long day of driving in Ireland, getting lost etc, only to find that the hotel is closed in January, even though we had a prepaid booking.
Friendly locals sent us in the right direction to find another room.

Stayed here in July 2013 and my wife, daughter and I had a wonderful time. We stayed here purely as it was irelands oldest hotel and you could feel the history in the place. The weather was fabulous and tramore had a great vibe with everyone enjoying the weather. I was very sad to hear the lovely owners are retiring and I just hope that someone takes over that respects the history of the place. The food was fantastic!!

Stayed at the Grand Hotel for NYE 2013.
The hotel is a very basic 3star hotel - sadly reflecting a lack of reinvestment over the last ten years.
From the initial contact right through to check out, the staff were helpful, welcoming and courteous. Both reception and banqueting staff in particular.
The public areas of the hotel are badly maintained - basic cleaning of glass doors and carpets would go a long way towards improving customers experience.
Live bands and discos play a big part in the business -and that was why we choose to stay here -however the individual venues (rooms) are just too small.
If the lack of investment continues, the Grand will become a pub with bedrooms.

Have stayed at the Grand Hotel a few times, most recently for the Seaside Mayhem event in November. Staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. A good breakfast served promptly, but in a relaxed atmosphere. Food in the bar is excellent and again in a relaxed atmosphere and pleasant surroundings. We had a sea view room which was stunning and we found everything we needed to make a very enjoyable weekend. Great location close to amenities and the beach.

We stayed at the Grand hotel during a work organised trip and we loved the hotel it's very grand , the decor with the Waterford crystal chandeliers was gorgeous, adored the carved wooden sofa in the reception , we had excursions to the Waterford crystal factory, the Jameson whiskey factory ( my first taste of whiskey EVER) and Blarney castle where my 22 stone husband got down to kiss the stone the factory shop at the castle was brilliant . Would recommend the Grand hotel for the food, the service, staff and the very comfortable rooms .
Actually went in October 2008
