“Excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

Went for lunch this wk. Staff were very nice. Had beef burritos and they were delicious, partner said his panini and chips was also gd. There's a really good wide range of choices and all the food I saw coming out of the kitchen looked great.

“My favourite place for lunch in Cavan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Without doubt my favourite place to have lunch, or indeed breakfast, in Cavan. Good, varied menu (bit of an Irish / American feel to it), good sized portions, lots of room, good value, and most importantly of all, really good and helpful staff. They also have free wifi, newspapers, and pictures and colouring pencils for the kids. Anybody who comes to visit me in Cavan tends to find themselves dragged down to the Hard Boiled Egg and nobody has regretted it yet ! And my recommendation from the menu? The Taco Salad. Cajun chicken in a edible bowl - what more could you ask for?

“Excellent breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Stopped into the Hard Boiled Egg on a wet Sunday morning. We were in a hurry but hungry. Breakfast was served quickly and was delicious - and there was plenty of it. Toilets were spotless, Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again when I'm in Cavan.

“Good Food in a bistro / diner type restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We had our tea here recently and really enjoyed the experience. The staff were lovely. There were plenty of newspapers to read while we waited for out meal. There was a great choice of menu and the food was reasonably priced. The portions were great. We would definitely go back.

“We'll Be Back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

As locals we have driven by this cafe hundreds of times but today we stopped in for coffee and a scone. When we saw the menu, however, we had to try the pancakes and bacon --- delicious. But it was the list of Mexican options on offer for lunch that made us eager to return. The place has the feel of a homey diner.
