“Avoid the weekend”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

This is a nice, modern hotel with very friendly and helpful reception staff. There is a lively bar and restaurant with a varied menu, good food and excellent service. The hot breakfast buffet was also very good.

Our room was a standard size but well arranged with room for luggage and good desk top. Modern bathroom with shower stall. It was located right in town with a department/grocery store across the street.

Our room overlooked the busy, somewhat chaotic parking lot (used not only by hotel guests but open to public).

We used Letterkenny as a base to make the 1.5 hour drive to the Giants Causeway and Bushmills in Northern Ireland. This worked well and we greatly enjoyed touring this beautiful area.

Our only regret is that our second night fell on a Friday, when a rally cross motor group were in town and there was a gala with music in the hotel. Neighbors from hell in the room next to us. The night manager tried to keep things under control but we did not sleep one wink. Unless you are invited to a function and will not mind hearing the music from the banquet room until midnight, we would recommend avoiding this hotel on weekends.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for four very pleasant nights. The staff were so friendly, the hotel had a welcoming atmosphere. The bar had music for our final night which was very enjoyable. Thank you to Siobhan for a very pleasant stroll round the town with loads of information. We would willingly go back tomorrow and recommend it to all.

Me and my Husband and the kids stayed in the Station House Hotel on the weekend of the 21st of June and we had a wonderful time. Staff were very attentive and friendly and service was excellent. The Hotel itself had a great atmosphere and was very child friendly. Our dining experience was fabulous because I am a celiac and usually when I stay in other hotels or go out to dine the options are usually limited, but their menu had many options and I was surprised when our server Shilo gave me other alternatives that I could have that were not on the menu and for once a proper gluten free dessert not a fruit salad, immm the chocolate brownie. Food delicious and great value.
Thanks to all the Staff in the Station House Hotel for the wonderful time we had, we will return again at the end of the summer before the kids return to school :)

We stayed at the Station House Hotel as part of an organized tour. It is an excellent hotel, clean, tidy, well organized, and friendly.
The food was great value and they had an open music night which was super.

Stayed at this hotel for four nights from 30th June 2013 and booked into room 313. First impressions from receptionist was very good and room was lovely and spacious. The bar/restaurant was top class with excellent meals and very reasonably priced. In fact the food was so good we ate in the hotel every night. All the staff work really hard especially Shiloe who serves and waits in the restaurant/bar, a very pleasant girl who couldn't do enough for customers.
Although the check out time is 12 noon, our flight wasn't until 9.25pm and we were not due to be collected till almost 5pm. A big thank you to Caroline on reception who organised a late check out for us. She was most helpful and courteous and very pleasant with it.
I cannot praise this hotel enough, all the staff work hard and certainly made our stay enjoyable it's not often I say this but they are a credit to the travel/hotel industry. If you are visiting Letterkenny then be sure to book this hotel, you won't be disappointed.
We would certainly reccomend this hotel to family and friends.
