We have dined in Becketts serval times and stay whenever we get a chance. Its a really lovely spot to have a nice dinner with friends and the food is quite amazing. We shop in Dublin for the day and maybe catch a movie in The Lighthouse Theatre in Smithfield and then we drive out to Becketts where the welcome has always been warm and inviting. I find if you are staying overnight then it is only for the upwardly mobile as there are a number of stairs to climb. Our room too was a little cold when we got there but we pointed it out to management they straight away sent up a maintenance person and gave us a drink on the house whilst it was being fixed. When the heating could not be sorted they moved us to a suite, so that made our night vey special, the suite is bigger than my kitchen and dining room put together and I could have stayed a lot longer!!! The food is really lovely and the staff have just the right amount professionalism to know when the leave you alone and when you need something. I did notice over the years that the staff remain consistent and that is always a good sign. I am usually too full for breakfast from the night before but they will always keep us topped up with really good coffee.
