“Beautiful well kept cottages in an amazing area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

Having spent a couple of days in these cottages I have to admit it was like a piece of heaven...the houses are set outside the village of Ballyvaughan in a beautiful coastal location. The houses are of a very high standard..with all mod cons. The area is quiet, relaxing and very private...I will be back again in the near future

I stayed once again at Ray's country cottages this time at chiristmas and I could only describe it as magical!. Ray thoughtfully had a fire lighting and the cottage looked like something out of a childhood fairy tale. Our beds and mattresses were very comfortable and we slept sound while the wind howled. I am a very recycle conscious person and I witnessed Mr. Quinn separate out rubbish from the house next door. I would suggest that he should get guests to do it themselves but he usually wants to make the holiday as hassle free as he can, which it always is . I cannot reccommed it enough.

We spent two weeks in one of the cottages. Everything was perfect. Clean, with all necessary equipments, very quiet.
Some little things could be improved. TV: there are only english and irish channels; some french, german, italian and other channels would be appreciated, especially by children who do not understand english. Garbage management: it does not seem that Ray sorts out different kinds of garbage; there are no different bins for glas or paper; what about environment protection? This could be very easily improved. Last but not least: the mattresses could be of a better quality.

My husband, son and I stayed in Cottage 4 in early July and were quite pleased with it. The Burren is a positively magical place with tremendous natural beauty, and the cottage was located right in the middle of it. We had a beautiful view of the bay in the distance out of the front of the cottage, and a lovely meadow out the back. It was very quiet at night, and we woke up in the morning to the sound of a cow lowing in the meadow. The cottage itself was clean and well appointed (LOVED having a washer and dryer), although fairly rustic. We couldn't get the upstairs shower to put out more than a mist, but that wasn't much of a problem since the downstairs shower worked fine. However, the beds were not terribly comfortable, and the bath towels were positively awful. Bottom line: the location can't be beat, and it was a nice break from the B&Bs we stayed in during the rest of our trip, but Ray should seriously consider upgrading to nicer towels. ;-)

We initially booked rays cottages for two nights but the minute we got there we decided to stay for two weeks! The house had everything we could have asked for and if we needed anything accommodating Ray Quinn(proprietor) would have got it to make our stay more pleasant. The area is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been in, having taken a few months off work to explore the world we were surprised that Ballyvaughan is not included in the 7natural wonders if the world. 10 out of 10

My daughter and I stayed in Cottage #3 for a week in July, 2011. I was more than impressed with this beautiful and clean, 2 story, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, kitchen/breakfast room and den cottage. Its the closest of the cottages to the water which is only a minutes walk. You have your own private yard (which is perfect for kids) and even table and chairs out the back sliding door and also a nice parking area. We had a fire going several days and it was lovely. The cable TV was great. We used the washer a few times and everything in the kitchen worked great. The cottage was a great home base to tour around and come back to each day. It's also close enough to Ballyvaughn to get groceries or go to restaurants or get anything needed. Ray was the perfect host!

we stayed at Rays country Cottages Bishops Quarters County Clare during May 2011. We originally only wanted to stay in Ballyvuaghan only for the hiking but when we got there we found a lot more. Firstly we were greeted by Mr. Quinn the cottage was very clean and well equipped, it was very homely and it was difficult to leave this home every morning but lovely to return to it in the evening. Mr Quinn was also on hand for any problems or questions we had. The cottages were located overlooking the bay with the burren as a backdrop we were delighted with the scenary and soem of us took an early morning swim in the sea. The area around Ballyvaughan has lots to keep families and people of any age occupied. We also really enjoyed the pubs and great restaurnats nearby. we could not recomment this company high enough.
