“Excellent Food and Service”

Fantastic food and chicken curry is top drawer. My wife is a vegetarian and she enjoyed her meal along with our 2 boys also. Great choice of food and desserts. Definitely come again.

“Well done, Sir!”

Thanks for amazing good quality of food. Will miss this Ale Pie! There seems to be a new cook around since a few months, and this guy knows how to make you happy!

“Good food reasonably priced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

My husband and I went here for lunch. There is a nice selection of bar food. I thoroughly enjoyed the Guinness Beef pie with a pint of Guinness. There's not much to choose from in Ballyvaughn, but I feel I chose well.

“Tasty fish & chips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2014

Tasty, good value, clean and most of all, friendly staff. We needed a quick light lunch and shared the fish & chips. Only negative - the fish was a bit cold in the middle - probably due to the cod fillet being quite thick. Batter was light & crispy which is always appreciated! Will be back!

“Best Meal Ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

I like fish but was totally stunned by the taste and presentation of the honey-baked salmon at Hyland's. It was presented on a bed of mashed potatoes and drizzled with chocolate. Vegetables were carmelized parsnips and carrots. Doesn't sound exotic at all, but WOW! what fantastic flavor. The salmon was moist and flaky and the chocolate did something that just opened up the taste sensation. I hate parsnips and carrots are just okay but these were like no vegetables I have ever eaten. Don't know what magic the chef worked, but this was the best meal I have ever eaten in a restaurant. You will enjoy your food. (If not, have another beer!)
