“Wonderful, Rustic and Warm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

Teach Ceann Tui was a wonderful spot to stay while we visited Ardara and area. Paul and Samantha were extremely warm and very helpful. The setting is rustic & beautiful. The thatched cottage was clean, comfortable and a real treat to stay in. It was homey with a sitting area and fresh baked cookies for an evening snack. I will definitely stay here again when I am in Donegal.

My husband, teen grandson and I all loved our two night stay in the beautiful area outside Ardara, Donegal County. The two bedroom plus living room thatched roof cottage is charming, spotlessly clean and a delightful experience. The owners were extremely helpful in guiding us to especially beautiful areas in the area and loaning us maps since our GPS sometimes could not pick up signals. Staying at Teach Ceann Tui was one of the special highlights on our trip to Northwest Ireland and Northern Ireland.

After a week of touring, this was such a welcome stop. It was luxurious in its homey comfort, hidden away in the beautiful countryside. The simplicity and quiet of our accommodations were wonderful, and the availability of modern conveniences (hair dryer! DVDs! Cribs and cots for our little ones!) meant that we never had to worry over details. We felt like well-cared-for guests rather than tourists. We enjoyed our freshly baked cookies when we arrived and our morning banquet (!!!). We also really enjoyed spending a little bit of time with family, both quiet time on our own as well as a few moments with our wonderful hosts, whose children are a delight and whose hospitality allowed us to enjoy the little slice of heaven they've built as their home.

So authentic, so beautiful. A perfect taste in everything. An ideal balance between contact with the family and having our own privacy. You have the whole cottage for yourself. And he cooks wonderful buttermilk cookies ! Perfect hosts in a beautiful place.

We traveled for 14 days with our family in Ireland and stayed in many fine hotels and B & B's but I must say this was my favorite! A real traditional, thatched cottage that was meticulously clean and comfortable. The simple things in life are sometimes the best! Awesome!

Samantha and Paul are so welcoming and friendly. The view is incredible and so much to see in the area. "The Beehive" in Ardara had the BEST Trad music that we heard in all of our travels through Ireland.

We will definitely stay there again.

My daughters & I traveled through Ireland in mid June. One of our favorite nights was staying at Teach Ceann Tui! The weather hadn't cooperated very well, I'm so sorry we missed the beautiful views of Donegal and Ardara. This lovely host couple had a peat fire going to warm our spirits and share their friendship the night we moved in. I wish we were able to stay another nights, but our plans pushed us further North. This cottage stay was one of our favorites in our trip. We definitely give this a perfect 10 score! Mary Pat

This gorgeous thatched cottage in an idyllic rural location is a truly wonderful place. Ideally located for exploring Donegal and surrounds, it was a little haven to return to at the end of a busy day. We were blessed with very hot weather for our 2 day stay so we know we saw Ardara and Donegal at its best. But even in inclement weather, the cottage would still be a great place to stay.
Paul and Sam were fab hosts....great breakfasts prepared by Paul. Their two young children are a delight...as are the chickens that roamed freely in the yard.
The cottage was cosy and relaxing and beautifully furnished, and has the most comfortable bed we have experienced during our first 5 weeks in the UK.
Highly recommended.
