“Like coming home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

You cannot visit this part of Ireland without going here! Go and get a pint of guinness and the chocolate and guinness cake, ahhhhh superb! Great atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly staff. During the summer you will see all sorts of nationalities here sampling the menu and all the food always looks great, and the smell of white wine, garlic and the local gweebarra mussells is something that you would never get sick of! I want to go there now!

“Great old pub!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

It's like stepping back in time when you step into Nancy's, which has been owned by the same family for a number of generations. It retains all the quirky charm of a very old pub, and the peat fire offers welcome warmth to autumn visitors like us. Good, honest pub grub at reasonable prices kept us coming back during our stay in Ardara, and we found the hosts and clientele friendly and helpful. The menu varies only in the daily special offering, so the choices are somewhat restricted, but we could have eaten that seafood chowder regularly!

“Very disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

I had been here about 15 years ago and was looking forward to a return visit. Despite heavily advertising seafood, there was only one hot fish of the day dish and a few cold fish dishes on offer. I ended up with a tuna melt which was truly revolting. Tinned tuna on semi sweet wheaten bread smothered in a tasteless cheese goo with lettuce and sliced onions. Not what I had in mind. The place still has charm but the menu was very poor so I wouldn't recommend it for eating in. Just have a drink or two.

“Warm Irish atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

The food is great and plentiful even for picky eaters. The central fireplace at the front door is a congregating area for visitors. Locals are quick to stand and let any ladies that enter the room take a seat. You'll find musicians plunking down to play guitars, whistles and washboards. No one knows anyone else, yet every one is a friend and all get on wel together!
