“Great place for wool!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Ireland's oldest weaving company. Enjoyed the walk through the factory which was well signed. It was Saturday, but there was still an employee working an old loom and available to answer questions. The gift shop had a nice selection of wool scarves, sweaters, and jackets, along with other merchandise. Had lunch at the cafe, which also had a good selection of Irish fare.

“Really relaxing, Nice Food, Great Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

Make sure you book ...it gets busy. The Fern House is a good restaurant. Its reliable, reasonably priced and a lovely atmosphere for lunch or dinner. I have eaten here many times, and i can definitely recommend it for intimate dinners for two, business lunches, or a family get together. The wine list is pretty good, the food is excellent and portions are generous without being stupid and it is well priced with top class service. A joy!

“Really Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

We ate in the cafe on a Monday afternoon after returning from holidays. We thought it would be quiet but the place was buzzing!
We just had lunch - I had the aubergine stuffed with spicy lamb and my husband had the fish cake. Both served with salad. They were both lovely. Something you wouldnt make at home - theres nothing worse than going for lunch and thinking 'Hmmm I really could have knocked that up myself at home a)quicker b)cheaper and c)tastier.
The plates were full with salad too -no scrimping! What stood out was that people obviously return here as many ordering knew the menu inside out. Or the staff knew their orders.
Will definitely be back to try our more of the menu - its not the cheapest lunch - but I still think you get value for your money.

Perfect for gift shopping and picnic food stuff. Always busy but worth the wait and gifts are gift wrapped at point of sale.
