This is what it says on the tin , a cheap central hotel

It has friendly staff and serves a great breakfast , full Irish with free parking and all for E40 .

Rooms have recently been given a freshen up with new curtains and throwovers

It served my purpose perfectly being on a work related trip and this was generally the clientele , or so it looked at breakfast .

One big crib was the lack of hot water for a shower , to call it tepid would be exaggerating , but again i harp back to the price .

Just back from a one night stay in Hearn's hotel. My partner and I attended a gig at the hotel. To be honest it's not 5 star luxury but it doesn't set out to be. It's a small, well located, friendly hotel, with comfortable and clean rooms, that were recently refurbished apparently.

We met the owner Fergal who gave us some great tips on things to do the following day in the area. All in all a very pleasant stay and we will definitely be back!

We had a lovely time at Hearns hotel when we travelled there for the annual O’Keeffe’s comedy festival.

The hotel is a place where you can never get bored – there is always something going on.

It was a couple of years since we had last been at the hotel. my wife was a bit iffy about the room from our last visit, but we had a pleasant surprise to see that our room had been fully renovated. the guy – polish I think - working at the residents’ bar told us that all of the rooms had been renovated in the past year.

a really nice job done – and our room was very clean too. always a no-no if that isn’t the case.

the staff were really friendly too – a staffer was up in no time to the room to give us an iron and an ironing board.

the hotel has a really homely residents’ bar with an open fire. very comfortable and the owner, Fergal showed us to their new pub across the street, ‘Bakers’ which he told us got voted one of the snugs of the year. it has real character. you can spend a few hours there before you know it!

hearns is a great place to get away for a weekend - during the day, there are some lovely hill walks around clonmel. we were lucky with the comedy weekend, there were some great acts, but the hotel seems to have a great programme of stuff going on all the time. we’ll be back for the clonmel junction festival in july

This is a great value hotel in the centre of Clonmel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody. It's really well located in the centre of Clonmel with all the main bars and restaurants located with minutes of the hotel. The hotel is very reasonably priced and the rooms are lovely and modern and very clean. The hotel paso has a late bar where they have a disco and live music so it was where we ended up and. It's great craic I have to say. I'd also recommend the restaurant Befani up the road and the two bars Bakers and Phil Carrolls across the road. We did some of the best hill walking in the Comeragh Mountains during the day. It was as good as anywhere in Ireland if not the best. I'd really recommend Clonmel and this hotel. It's central, clean, great price and with a couple of bars great fun.

We are currently staying in this hotel. We booked a night after attending the comedy fest. I can safely say it's the worst place I have ever stayed in! We were given the keys at reception and told the general area where our room was. When we eventually found it, I couldn't believe how dirty it was. There was dust everywhere! It was inch thick on the back of the TV. Two of the bulbs had gone and the tea making facilities were a joke! The cups hadn't been washed and there was no remote control. We asked to be changed to another room but apparently they were full. They did do a quick polish and hoover while we were out and replaced the two bulbs. We enjoyed the comedy but when we returned to our room we realised that there are two different night clubs underneath us with competing booming tunes! We are seriously considering going back home!
