“Family Break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We booked a suite for a family get away. The suite itself was amazing and comfortably accommodated the 2 adults and 3 children in our group. Check in was efficient and the receptionist very helpful with planning activities and dinner. We chose to eat on site and found both the bar staff and restaurant staff very helpful. The hotel itself is modern and clean and well located in Clonmel.
Definitely a hotel that we will come back to.

We had our daughters 21st Birthday party here on a Saturday night. I must say I could not fault any aspect of the hotel / staff or organising. The event was organised with Eve who gave us a most professional service. The food, management and staff (including the bar staff) were very professional/friendly and courteous. A great night was had by all. Well done

One night stay for business so didn't really do much more than sleep here. Was allowed to check in early to drop off my stuff with no issues. Room was spacious and comfortable with adjustable heating so I wasn't boiled.
Tea and Coffee facilities were fine.
Didn't use the restaurant but it looked a little pricey, based on the menu. If you're visiting Clonmel, then you could do a lot worse than stay here. Breakfast is served from 7am and I had to leave at 7am so didn't get breakfast either. In fairness, I didn't ask if they could accommodate an early breakfast, but they strike me as the kind of place that probably would have if they'd been asked.
Location is the middle of a retail park and my room had a lovely view of the car park and the local traveller camp..... but I wasn't really there for the scenery so not much of an issue there.

Stayed for 2 nights over New Years and we had a great time. Booked a family room and it was lovely. Facilities were great and we loved the swimming pool. Our 5 year old really enjoyed it. Food in bar was lovely but could have done with more staff to clear tables. Staff very helpful and went out of way to help us. Defo a funny smell in rooms but all in all would return again. Great location. Son left his teddy which staff found 4 days later which we were delighted with.!!!

i have just returned having been there for new years for 2 nights with my family we booked 16 rooms as it was an anniversary of my brother who was there from australia and my sister from holland and my whole family .. the meal on new years took far too long as we had 3 tables to cater for 48 people the 3rd table waited almost 2 hours for there main course ... not enough staff on as there was also a wedding in the hotel .... we were told there would be music in the lounge bar which would not consist of ballads ..... we got a guy on a guitar who sang mostly ballads for a new years eve this was vey dissapointing did not give us the incentive to get up and dance and the countdown to new year was a joke also for a 4 star hotel the carpets on the corridors was very dirty and the heat was stiffling in the bedrooms even with the radiator off also some o our bathrooms had a sewer smell in them so overall management seriously need to review these aspects of this hotel......... catherine.... kildare

Myself and a friend booked both of our families in for 30th and 31st of December for new year and we were disappointed with the hotel. It is a modern hotel,is clean and warm, but the rooms are not fit for families and should not be advertised as such.Putting in a pop up bed in these rooms leaves little room for manouver and must be considered a fire hazard as it is under the only opening window in the room. This means you have to crawl over two beds to get to the window in an emergency. We were asked if we wanted it somewhere else, but then we would have been totally spaceless.Storage space for clothes etc is minimal. The bathroom only has a shower over bath arrangement which is quite high to step over and if you're over 5ft 6inches you have to stoop down to get the benifit of the shower. The door of the bathroom faces into the room, but so easily could have been put beside the main door to the room, to give one a little privicy. The carpets in the upstairs corridors are badly soiled. My main gripe with this establishment is the meal served to us in the restaurant, which was booked in advance so they knew we and maybe a hundred or more people were coming to dine,on new years eve.We sat down and ordered our meal. After two enquiries about the delay, the starters arrived, after a 35 minute wait. All three soups were tepid and two were returned and replaced. The mains arrived after another delay and two of the chicken dishes were cold and one was returned. While this was ongoing the potatoes and veg arrived and again they were cold.As the chicken dish came back,we had to return the potatoes and veg and carry on with the other mains without the sides of potato and veg. This arrived back after 5 minutes, but most of the mains had been consumed. The kids were served last which is unusual as most child friendly hotels feed the kids first so the parents can enjoy their own meals. We kept getting apologies and an offer of wine(which we don't drink) but the celebration meal was ruined. My fellow guests and I were stressed and this ruined the evening. We did get to talk to Michael, introduced as the general manager, and he was totally apologetic and offered no excuses and offered a reduction on the bill. He was very nice and professional about the incident, but the damage was done. The swimming pool was dated, quite dark even in daytime and changing rooms need major renovation.Staff are young, efficent and very polite/ helpful (this includes the housekeeping personal).Could be a landmark hotel as it is in a nice spot with ample car parking and a shopping mall next door, but was let down by poor service on a night we should have been celebrating the new year. Also some housekeeping issues surrounding the pool, carpets and the room set up.Paul Boylan (room 117) pboylan@eircom.ie

ereose the service of in their restaurant (which was booked in advance).

Room Tip: For a family, get a good look at the room before checking in.

A group of four attended the Clonmel Park Hotel for Christmas Day Lunch. At a cost of 70 euro per head we were bitterly disappointed. The tables were very unfestive with just two crackers and one streamer on our table. The soup was the texture of wallpaer paste. The turkey and ham was very unsatisfactory- just a small sliver of hard ham underneath the turkey. Apart from diced turnips and carrots we were given 3 Brussels Sprouts each!!! There was no Christmas Cake or Mince Pies. Not even a sweet was offered.
Each course was returned with just a bare amount eaten from each plate. No member of staff questioned that. Neither did any waiter/waitress/manager approach our table at any stage to enquire if everything was okay.
If you are going to do something you do it well or not at all. It was a total waste of money.
